As a Pokémon GO player, the word Raid must surely mean something to you. And yes, these are the multi-player battles that you can do from time to time in the arenas. There are two types, the so-called classic raids and the EX raids which are those of the legendaries. Finally, there were two since a third type of raid makes its appearance with this update. This is the Mega-raid which, as its name suggests, will be based on Mega-evolutions.

What makes the Mega-raid special?
A Mega Raid will have you face a Pokémon that has already Mega Evolved, however you will not be able to capture it. On the other hand, it will be possible to obtain its original form by winning the fight.
The rewards of a Mega Raid?
A Mega Raid will allow you to obtain rewards once completed. The time remaining after defeat can vary the amount of rewards. In no case does time affect your chances of having a shiny Pokémon.
- Between 40 and 50 Mega-energy
- Honor Balls to capture the defeated Pokémon
- A Pokémon to capture depending on the raid done which can be chromatic or not.
List of available Mega Raids
There are currently four Mega Raids for three Pokémon that can benefit from Mega Evolution. Here they are:
- Mega Charizard X (Type: Fire/Dragon)
- Mega Charizard Y (Type: Fire/Flying)
- Mega Blastoise (Type: Water)
- Mega Venusaur (Type: Poison/Grass)
