The teasing of a new item has begun on Pokémon GO. Thanks to an initial report from Professor Willow, we understand that it is an object made of steel and Purple glass that allows members of Team GO Rocket to control Pokéstops.
Special terrain studies will likely be unlocked once the mystery is solved. Will we be able to fight Giovanni soon?

Report of 10/22/19
During my investigations into these takeovers, I came across these strange objects that Team GO Rocket’s minions would drop after being defeated. For the purposes of this report, I’ll refer to them as Mysterious Components. The exterior of these objects appears to be made of some sort of metal alloy, and they are cold to the touch. The glass screens give off a light purple color. I touched the screen of one of the objects to see if it reacted, but nothing happened.
I suspected that Team GO Rocket’s minions were using some sort of device to take over PokéStops and gather resources. From what I can tell so far, these Mysterious Components I found seem to serve that purpose. But given the advanced technology they’re using, they must have another purpose. I’m working on something in my lab with the help of the team leaders, and I think we could use these components to track down Team GO Rocket’s hiding place. I need to continue my research. We need to get to the bottom of this.
