During Go Combat Weekends, you can take part in one-off studies where you have to use super-effective charged attacks. In this guide, we will see together what this task refers to on the Pokémon GO mobile game.
If you’ve been a trainer for many years, you know how to spot when an attack is super-effective or not on your opponents, whether in a classic game or in Pokémon GO. For those who don’t know, we’re going to review this notion together on the occasion of the GO Battle Weekend in October.
Pokémon GO Super Effective Charged Attack: How to Perform One?
First of all, you should know that there are two types of attacks in Pokémon GO.
- Instant attacks which are the attacks your monster uses when you tap your screen during a battle.
- Charged attacks that require energy to be able to be launched. You will then have to click on the icon dedicated to your ability and then succeed in a mini-game to maximize it.
What interests us here are the second attacks. To charge them, you must click on your screen in order to see your creature use its immediate attack. This will fill the icon located in the middle at the bottom of your screen. Once it is filled, you can click on it to launch the mini-game where you will have to collect the most rounds of the type of your attack. Following that, the ability is cast and if you have type advantage over your opponent it will be super effective on the latter as you can see in the images just below. And that’s how to increase your counter to complete your one-time study task.

Pokémon GO Battle Weekend: List of Tasks and Rewards for Timely Research

Combat GO Day (paid)
- Fight 10 times in the GO Combat League : 6,000 Stardust.
- Fight 30 times in the GO Combat League : 6,000 Stardust
- Fight 50 times in the GO Combat League : 6,000 Stardust
- Uses 15 super effective Charged Attacks : 6,000 Stardust
- Recharge a Pokémon 10 times : 6,000 Stardust
- Study Rewards : 3 Super Candies, 3 Super Candies L and a Star Piece.
GO Combat Day (Free)
- Fight 5 times in the GO Combat League : 7,500 PX.
- Fight 10 times in the GO Combat League : 7,500 PX.
- Uses 10 super effective Charged Attacks : 7,500 PX.
- Recharge a Pokémon 10 times : 7,500 PX.
- Study Rewards : 3 Super Candies, Alisma Style Gloves, and an Elite Charged Attack TM.
