Predicting When the First XRP ETF Will Launch

Following the expected launch of the Ethereum ETF, there is much speculation as to which digital asset will receive the next ETF. Several companies have submitted applications for ETFs based on Solana SOL. Besides SOL, Ripple’s XRP is speculated to have its own ETF.

Ripple President Monica Long shared her thoughts on XRP’s roadmap and future price trajectory in a recent interview. Amid the ETF craze, Long shared that launching an XRP ETF would make sense, given XRP’s immense momentum and community support.

Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse also spoke about the future prospects of a spot XRP ETF recently. During an appearance on Fox Business, Garlinghouse doubled down on his optimism that an XRP ETF could be coming soon. He discussed how a Spot Ethereum ETF opens the door for future ETFs around other assets like XRP.

With the growing hype around ETFs, when will we see the first XRP ETF launch?

When will the XRP ETF launch?

Speaking about the SEC potentially making things difficult for Ripple’s XRP ETF fight, Garlinghouse emphasized: “An XRP ETF is inevitable.” As for the timeline, the Ripple CEO said: “I think we’ll see it in 2025.”

If Solana gets the XRP ETF first, the 2025 timeline could be accurate if XRP follows the SOL in the registration process. On the other hand, according to a report, the Ripple (XRP) and Cardano (ADA) ETF is unlikely to materialize in the near future. GSR has released a new report that includes its ETF Likelihood Score, which evaluates the likelihood of a cryptocurrency getting its own exchange-traded fund.

The report notes that higher demand is a better indicator of an ETF going forward. However, both XRP and ADA show demand scores of -0.2 and -0.5 respectively. Again, this puts them at the bottom of the group.

With the Solana ETF launch likely to come next, an XRP ETF launch doesn’t seem like such a far-fetched dream. Garlinghouse’s 2025 prediction is most likely.
