Windows is an operating system designed to run on millions of computers with settings totally different, so, more than an operating system, it could be called a work of engineering. macOS, the operating system Apple for its computers, it is designed to work on a computer with a hardware very specific, so it should be perfect and not have any problems, but it doesn’t.
Linux also works on thousands of completely different computers, but it does not have the same support in the form of drivers that Microsoft does. In addition to the hardware that is part of the computer, operating systems also need to offer hardware support from third parties.
Since operating system developers cannot be involved in everything, it is the manufacturers who have to release drivers so that their products work with the corresponding operating system. If they do not exist, there are no drivers that allow the operating system to recognize it, there is no way to make it work.
If we talk about hardware that connects to a computer, the most common is a graphic card. This hardware replaces the motherboard’s graphics system with one with greater features and that allows you to get more out of the equipment based on the hardware that has been added.
So much NVIDIA as amd and just like Intelperiodically release new updates to the drivers that manage their hardware mainly to offer support for new games that hit the market. However, just as Windows is not a perfect operating system (just like any other), neither is graphics card manufacturers’ software.
The third-party software that we install on Windows has to work hand in hand with the operating system and, unfortunately, it does not always do so. In the case of graphics cards it is even more important since the computer video output. If either of them gives an error, we have a problem.
Restart the graph with a keyboard shortcut
If the graph is presenting some type of problem, the simplest thing is to turn off the PC and turn it back on. Although it is true that we can restart your computerthis option does not always work, so turning it off is always the best option.
We can also disable and re-enable the card drivers from the Device Managera slow process that sometimes involves restarting the PC. However, there is also another method that is much faster and easier and will not take more than 20 seconds.
Windows has a feature available through a keyboard shortcut that allows restart the graph without having to turn off the PC or temporarily deactivate the graphics drivers. The keyboard shortcut we are talking about is Win + CTRL + Shift + B.
By pressing this key combination, Windows will reset the graphicsthe image will flash black for a few seconds and make a beep. This keyboard shortcut only affects the performance of the graphics card, so it is not necessary to close any of the applications that we have open in the foreground or background.
We can perform this process even if we are playing, as long as the Win key is not blocked by the keyboard or even by the game.
