There are many invaders in Elden Ring, and there are a few more in Shadow of the Erdtree. But in Queelign’s case, it’s a pretty well-hidden quest that awaits you.
Fight against the fire knight Queelign
This rather formidable invader will invade you twice during your adventure in the Shadow Realms. Once in the Belurat dungeon, with the Insignia of the Crusade talisman as a reward.
You will face him a second time in a Crusade Church north of Occult Altus. This time, you will obtain the Ashes of War: Fiery Skewer.
The second time Fire Knight Queelign is defeated a second time, you will also obtain the Prayer Room Key.
Where to use the Prayer Room Key?
You will probably have to be patient. Indeed, you have to go through theEast entrance to the Black Castle. This involves going around the big East side of the map, then entering the Flooded religious quarter.
Jump from rooftop to rooftop in the flooded religious quarter, until you reach the prayer room where the Fire Knight Queelign is located. There are two ways to enter: through a hole in the roof, or through the door, which does indeed require using the key.
Iris of grace or Iris of occultation?
You will finally find Queelign’s true physical form, and he doesn’t seem to be in good shape. Depending on the items in your inventory, you have two options, use an Iris of Grace, or an Iris of Occultation.
Iris of grace : Queelign is relieved, and transforms into Spirit Ashes in his name. You will be able to summon him in battle.
- Occultation iris : You get the Queelign Greatsword in this case, a weapon that deals fire damage.
It is impossible to obtain both during the same game. You will have to play in New Game Plus, if you wish to complete your collection.
Where to find irises?
There is more than one of each type of iris in play. If you explore the Black Castle, you should be able to collect a few. Here is the location of one of each of these items.
