Speeder Star Wars Outlaws: Drift, surf, shoot… How to improve your vehicle?

The open world of Star Wars Outlaws is so vast that traveling by speeder across the different planets is a must. Going at full speed, you will get it very early during the main story but you will realize that it is missing some features so here is how to unlock them. To upgrade your speeder, you must go to a mechanic (available on each planet near the spaceports).

Tips

Call your speeder at any time (except in restricted areas or during quests) using the hotkey (right arrow on PS5 for example).

You can fast travel directly to your speeder by selecting it on the map.

How to shoot enemies while on the speeder?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to take out your blaster yourself while on the speeder. The only technique is to charge the adrenaline rush (gauge at the bottom right of the screen) and press R1 and L1 (PS5) simultaneously to trigger a sort of Dead Eye like in Red Dead Redemption 2. Time will then freeze and you will be able to target the enemies behind or in front of you in order to hit them. This may not eliminate them on the first try but will at least make them stagger or send them into the scenery.

It is possible to improve your speeder’s shooting with the “Trigger Ace” expert. The “speeder shot” ability allows you to automatically target enemies during the adrenaline rush and has a higher chance of eliminating them directly.

How to jump with the speeder?

You will unlock this skill thanks to the Expert “The Mechanic”. This one can be easily encountered during the main scenario. Before tackling the rest of the main mission on the planet Tosharathe mechanic Waka will indeed ask you to improve your speeder to get the speed boost. To do this, you will have to find Selo, the mechanic.

Once the latter’s mission is completed, you will have to succeed in the challenge “perform a 60m long jump without being ejected” to unlock the speeder jump. We advise you to stay on Toshara and go to the northwest side of the Lost Steppe, at the Elario Hideout, to find a superb springboard.

How to surf on water?

On Akiva, there are large expanses of water that your speeder unfortunately cannot yet brave. Don’t panic, it is by unlocking the expert “The Pillard” that you will obtain the necessary skill. This is done automatically by progressing in the main story: after saving Gedeek on Akiva, you will automatically receive information on The Pillard, from ND-5.

How to get trophies in Speeder?

In the game’s achievements list, there are some trophies that can only be obtained by using the speeder. Here’s how to do it.

Perform a perfect landing

Use a springboard at full speed: As long as you land straight and don’t hit a rock, this will count as a perfect landing and unlock the trophy.

Perform a 30 second drift

Find an open area without rocks and hold L2 and R2 while spinning left or right in a circle, like you’re doing a donut in a car. Hold them for 30 seconds, then release them to get the trophy.

Eliminate 5 enemies with Adrenaline Rush in Speeder

Cannot be performed if you have not unlocked the Gunslinger’s “Speeder Shot” skill. Wait until you have at least 5 enemies on your tail and use the adrenaline rush.
