Star Wars Outlaws does not feature an automatic healing mechanism for the main character, but it is of course possible to heal Kay Vess with Bacta Vials and increase the carry limit of these consumable items. Here’s how to do it.
How to heal in Star Wars Outlaws?
By default, your character cannot recover 100% of the health points lost. Only a part of the health bar is automatically regenerated. You will then have to heal the rest by your own means. When the screen turns red, this is an alert to let you know that Kay is in danger and that she is missing a large number of health points: it is then time to heal her.
To do this, there is only one option: use a bacta vial by pressing the appropriate button (down arrow on PS5 for example).
Where to find Bacta vials?
Bacta Vials are consumable items that you can find as loot, for example from defeated enemies or directly on the ground. Additionally, they are available for purchase from certain merchants. Consider this option if you have exhausted all your reserves. The average price is around 20 credits, but you can reduce this by having good relations with the merchant’s faction.
By default, Kay can only carry 2 Bacta Vials at a time, which may not be enough to win large battles or complete long quests. Fortunately, this limit can be increased.
How to increase the limit of bacta vials to carry?
- Some equipment can increase this limit: equipping the belt can add an additional slot for vials but only as long as you are wearing the item.
- Equipped item bonuses may also include automatic healing as a reward for certain actions (for each enemy defeated while Adrenaline Rush is active for example)
- You can also unlock Expert skills, such as the Bartender’s which allows you to armor Kay’s jersey and lengthen his life bar.
- Alternatively, you can make your fights easier using the Player Health setting in the game options.
