Star Wars Outlaws Mercenary: Find the Expert and unlock all his skills

In order to pick up more powerful weapons and upgrade your ship, you need to recruit The Mercenary, one of the experts available in Star Wars Outlaws. Here’s where to find her, complete her mission, and her ability challenges.
In Star Wars Outlaws, you play as Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who still has a lot to learn but knows how to surround herself with the best. As a major progression system, you will then have to regularly find Experts in the galaxy in order to unlock new skills. Whether for combat, to improve your speeder or to obtain practical tools, it is essential to find all the Experts and recruit them. Here’s how to do it with The Mercenary.
The Mercenary’s Abilities
To unlock new skills, you will not only need to find the Expert in the open world and complete his special quest, but also complete challenges for each ability. As for Rooster, the Mercenary, here are the missions to complete for each skill.
Can I try?
- Bonus : Allows Kay to use a wider range of pick-up weapons by learning to use high-level Imperial weaponry. Press R3 to pick up weapons.
- Basic ability by unlocking The Mercenary.
I like that,
- Bonus : Increases the amount of ammo of the pickup weapon by 25%.
- Challenge : Defeat 5 enemies using different types of collected weapons
Block antennas
- Bonus : Doubles the distance at which Nix will be able to detect and highlight enemies using Nix’s Sense mechanism. Press up to use Nix’s Sense.
- Challenge 1 : Call Nix three times to retrieve a weapon, grenade or bacta vial.
- Challenge 2 : Complete a burglary contract without being detected
- Challenge 3 : Make Nix jealous (pet another creature besides him)
Sniper
- Bonus : Greatly increases adrenaline generated by headshots.
- Challenge 1 : Perform 15 headshots (pick up a sniper for more accuracy)
- Challenge 2 : Complete a performer contract
- Challenge 3 : Eliminate 8 enemies using a sniper rifle
U-turn maneuver
- Bonus : Press L1 + R1 to perform a 180 degree turn which will quickly rotate the Trailblazer in the opposite direction
- Challenge 1 : Eliminate 6 TIA Interceptors
- Challenge 2 : Eliminate 12 enemy ships
- Challenge 3 : Complete a Space Smuggling Contract
Turning maneuver
- Bonus : Hold L1 + R1 to perform a 360-degree roll maneuver that will position the Trailblazer behind immediate pursuers.
Where to find Rooster Trace, the Mercenary?
As with most Experts, you will first need to find an Information about Rooster in order to unlock a questline. The expert information can be found on the planet Kijimiin the Domak refectory.
- So head to Kijimi and talk to the bartender at Domak’s cantina. He will then tell you Rooster’s location, which you can follow to a nearby table, where a woman is sitting alone.
- After failing to convince her to help you, she comments that she lost the tracker to her confiscated weapons in the nebula orbiting Kijimi, and she doesn’t want to try to find it.
- Walk away after the conversation and Kay and ND-5 will discuss the search for the tracer. Return to the Trailblazer and head to Kijimi orbit.
- Head towards the objective marker on the left side of the nebula and you will be tasked with finding the tracking beacon. Look for the large floating yellow containers and collect them when prompted to grab the beacon, which will then take you to the Northern Jundlands on Tatooine.
- After reaching the objective marker and speaking to Rooster, follow her and grab one of the nearby Z-6 rotary cannons and shoot it. You will then wait with Rooster and ambush a number of Imperial Troop Carriers, each dropping off up to 6 Stormtroopers.
