In Star Wars Outlaws, you play as Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who still has a lot to learn but knows how to surround herself with the best. As a major progression system, you will then have to regularly find Experts in the galaxy in order to unlock new skills. Whether for combat, to improve your speeder or to obtain practical tools, it is essential to find all the Experts and recruit them. Here’s how to do it with The Veteran.
Veteran Abilities
To unlock new skills, you will not only need to find the Expert in the open world and complete his special quest, but also complete challenges for each ability. As for MT-7, the Veteran, here are the missions to complete for each skill.
Decryption module
- Bonus : Allows Kay to decrypt previously encrypted Separatist datadiscs, which could reveal useful information.
- Obtained after completing the expert side mission “The Veteran”
Improvise
- Bonus : increases Kay’s maximum health
- Challenge 1 : Defeat enemies using the environment
- Challenge 2 : Find hideouts
Adapt
- Bonus : Increases the amount of health instantly recovered from Bacta Vials by 1, without affecting regeneration over time. Press the key to heal.
- Unlocks after unlocking “Improvise”
Surpassing
- Bonus : After taking explosive damage, you immediately begin regenerating at an increased rate.
- Unlocks after unlocking “Improvise” and “Adapt”
Commando Nix
- Bonus : After performing a Nix attack, he will be able to autonomously perform a second attack on another nearby enemy.
- Challenge 1 : Find 6 different ways to make Nix happy (feed him, pet him, make him sabotage something, send him to distract an enemy, make him pick up an item, perform a speeder boost)
- Challenge 2 : Eliminate 10 distracted enemies with the blaster
Hacking Kit Improvement
- Bonus : Increases the amount of energy for the hacking kit by 2. Use the energy to activate Jokers during the hacking process.
- Challenge 1 : Obtain an AF-2 Decryption Key: The Lost Merchant sells one
- Challenge 2 : Obtain a Chalcopyrite
- Challenge 3 : Obtain 15 4XB Computing Unit
Where to find the Veteran?
- Prerequisites: Complete the main mission “Droid Repairer” on Akiva and the Expert mission “The Raider,
- Follow the mission of “The Mercenary” to collect your first transmission in space (Kijimi orbit)
- You will then unlock the quest “Transmission Advantages
- It is by completing this series of quests that you will be able to acquire the knowledge of the droid NT-7 about the Veteran.
To unlock the Veteran, you must collect 5 CIS transmissions in space before ND can trace the signal back to Akiva, where you will find the Veteran. The transmissions are therefore in orbit of the planets: look for large yellow boxes like in the image below:
- Once in Akiva Jungle, you will need to find tablets in two different locations to learn more about the battle droid.
- To open the gate, you must use your blaster in ion mode on the three batteries on the outside and inside
- Back in space you must destroy the beacons (locations shown below)
