Star Wars Outlaws Notes Compilation

  • 90 – GameSpew: Star Wars Outlaws perfectly captures the essence of the popular franchise, making you feel like you’ve stepped into its world. The locations are packed with things to do, and whether you’re sneaking around or launching into a full-on shootout, it’s always a blast.
  • 80 – Noixy Pixel: Star Wars: Outlaws is, despite some narrative shortcomings, a real blast. It’s big enough that I can’t get to 100% before launch, but not so massive that it makes me question what I’m doing with my life (looking at you, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla).
  • 80 – ScreenRant: How Kay Vess’ story fits into the franchise at large remains to be seen, but with some major revelations in the final part of the game, this excellent first adventure is sure to have exciting consequences down the road.
  • 75 – Washington Post: A strong reminder of why Ubisoft’s formula became so influential, so reliable, and so popular.
  • 70 – GamesRadar: Star Wars Outlaws is a very fun game, but it’s hampered by a poor stealth system and lackluster mission design. Massive Entertainment establishes an incredible sense of place across its open worlds, accurately capturing the look and feel of the original trilogy of films, but the experience falters.
  • 70 – IGN: Star Wars Outlaws is a fun intergalactic heist adventure with plenty of exploration, but it’s hampered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and too many bugs at launch.
  • 60 – VGC: Star Wars Outlaws is a pulpy, Uncharted-esque adventure that fails to live up to its potential. Kay and Nix lead a great cast through a well-paced and gritty story, but the game’s reputation system and overall story feel undercooked.

And what do we think at HobbyConsolas? Here we leave you our assessment of a game that we have scored with an 88 out of 100. We really liked Star Wars Outlawsdespite some drawbacks already highlighted.

Star Wars Outlaws has action, adventure and a lot of heart. And that would probably have been enough, but far from being conservative, here we see a Ubisoft that dares to trust the player when designing its open worlds (or planets), thus perfecting a formula in which they are the masters. There is no doubt: this is the way to go.
