The CEO of China’s largest cybersecurity company was arrested for stealing this Altcoin

According to an official announcement from China, the CEO of a major corporation has been accused of stealing altcoins from victims.

Some executives of 360China’s leading cybersecurity company, was sentenced to three years in prison with an extended probation period.

The charges include remote exploitation of Yapi code to gain unauthorized access to a cryptocurrency website and theft 3015.9 Dash (DASH).

Details of the incident were revealed between February 9 and 20, 2023. Criminals identified as Hongmou, Yangmou and Zhangmou sought to infiltrate the cryptocurrency website by exploiting the Yapi vulnerability.

Once inside, they took control of internal network servers through peer-to-peer intrusion and Trojan installation. They then download and analyze the server’s source code to find the victim’s cryptocurrency wallet address and private key.

With this information, they created a fake instruction to transfer cryptocurrency from the victim’s wallet. The stolen Dash coins are then exchanged for other cryptocurrencies and sold, generating illegal income more than 2.5 million yuan (more than 7 billion VND).

DASH is trading around $23 at the time of writing.

If China lifts its cryptocurrency ban, the market will increase 100 times
