Filming for season 2 of The Last of Us series ended last week! And that can only be excellent news for the launch of the next episodes.
If we are to believe a job offer, things are starting to get serious for The Last of Us 3. Indeed, Naughty Dog has vacant positions to fill, including that of senior gameplay animator. The person who will be chosen at the end will have to “design animations for a wide variety of creatures”. But the profile must also have a “strong understanding of creature animation as well as mechanics”. Unless the rumored new Dogs franchise has creatures as well, it looks a lot like TLOU. As for the Max series, everything accelerated last week.
The Last of Us HBO Season 2 Closer Than Ever?
The Last of Us season 2 is expected to turn a corner after a first season that was very successful. A hit that has also gone beyond the closed circle of fans of the video game license, and which has sought an audience foreign to Naughty Dog games. And the sequel risks being debated when we know to what extent TLOU2 has received strong criticism, some of which is totally ridiculous. Some people have even come to hate the character of Abby and harass the teams, including Laura Bailey who voices her in the original version.
A hatred that had consequences since Kaitlyin Dever, who plays Abby in the series The Last of Us, had to be put under high surveillance to avoid any problems. “There are people who really hate Abby, who doesn’t exist. She’s not a real person, mind you. That’s why Kaitlyn had to be extra protected by security during filming.” revealed Isabela Merced (Kay in Alien Romulus).
Finally, filming for season 2 of The Last of Us was wrapped a few days ago, and the teams were able to relax. Catherine Goldschmidt, the director of photography, posted a photo on Instagram taking the time to thank the team. When will there be a release date? A big announcement could be coming soon. With this end of filming, The series could return in early 2025, in April at the latest.. But we can’t be sure that it will be before. In a few weeks, on September 26, 2024, it will also be The Last of Us Day. An ideal event to talk about the HBO show again and why not broadcast a trailer with a date.
