At the beginning of September, Sony announced the intergenerational renewal of the PS5. The PS5 Pro hits the market on November 7, next Thursday, however, it can already be reserved for a few weeks, although it is not having the same success as the first generation despite the fact that, according to Sony, it will be possible play in 4K resolution at 60 FPS.
It was a matter of time before or after its launch, we knew the inside of this new console. For users who are interested in purchasing this intergenerational renovation, it is not necessary to wait any longer since the Brazilian YouTube channel TAG, with more than 500,000 subscribers, has just published the first PS5 Pro teardownwhere we can see inside all the components and improvements that Sony has implemented.
Inside the PS5 Pro
One of the most striking aspects of the PS5 Pro is the significant improvement that this new model has received in terms of repairability, as previously rumored. In the following video, we see how access to the battery that stores the console information is accessible through a simple cover so it is not necessary to disassemble practically the entire console.
As expected, Sony has improved the system of PS5 Pro cooling introducing a smaller fan that has 18 blades. In the video we can see how the heatsink of the original PS5 is also taller and does not fit in the space reserved for it on the PS5 Pro.
According to Sony, the graphics that this new version of the PS5 Pro incorporates is 45% more powerful than the version that was launched in 2020 and the one found in the PS5 Slim (it is the same hardware), so it is logical that, to prevent heat from being a problem, the dissipation system of heat by adding a greater number of pipes connected to a larger heatsink.
The plate where the heat dissipation system is installed practically occupies the entire height of the console and is located just below the plate. Like the plate and the dissipation system, the power supply It’s also very easy to remove from the console and has a rectangular design instead of the L-shaped or K-shaped design (depending on how you look at it) of the first generation.

PS5 Pro specifications
When Sony presented the PS5 Pro, it practically confirmed all the news we knew about the console so far. However, it was still unknown what the amount of system memorynot to be confused with the one on the graph, which is 16 GB.
The PS5 Pro manual indicates that it has 2 GB of DDR5 memory, memory reserved only for the console’s operating system, so only the 16 GB of graphics are used to play.
