This console PC adopts a brand new, very promising processor

The PC-console war is raging, and OneXFly is entering the fray with a formidable weapon: the F1 Pro. This war machine features a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, never before seen in this format.

The PC-console market was “born” with the Steam Deck in 2022. Even if other products existed before, this market had not been identified as strategic before the arrival of Steam.

While the Asus ROG Ally portable format. The bet is daring, but the first results are promising.

Unprecedented power in the portable world

The choice to integrate a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is not trivial. Unlike AMD’s Z1 series, specially designed for console PCs like the ROG Ally, OneXFly has made the bet of embedding a real laptop processor.

The 12 cores (4 Zen 5 + 8 Zen 5c) combined with a Radeon 890M iGPU promise impressive performance. On paper, the Radeon 890M graphics part with its 16 RDNA3.5 cores of the Ryzen AI 9 HX370 looks ideal for playing in honorable conditions for an iGPU. We expect performance equivalent to that of a GeForce RTX 2050 dGPU.

4nm engraving at TSMC should also help maintain reasonable consumption.

The first benchmarks are convincing: Black Myth: Wukong runs at 58 FPS in Full HD on low settingsfor a consumption of only 15 watts. A performance that leaves you wondering when you know that even high-end PC consoles like the Ayaneo Kun sometimes struggle to maintain 30 FPS on demanding titles.

The challenge of heating and autonomy

But integrating so much power into such a compact format (only 598 grams) raises questions. If OneXFly promises optimized thermal management, history has taught us that console PCs often have difficulty maintaining their performance over time. The ROG Ally suffered the brunt upon its release, requiring several updates to stabilize its performance.

The 7-inch 144 Hz OLED screen is a great promise, as is the audio system from Harman. But these components, coupled with a greedy processor, risk seriously impacting autonomy. An essential point that OneXFly has not yet addressed in its communication. This is often a point that is rarely discussed.

The console PC market is reaching maturity, with AMD’s future Extreme Z2 chip, and each manufacturer is trying to stand out. If Valve focuses on balance with its Steam Deck, Asus on versatility with the ROG Ally, and Lenovo on the big screen with its Legion Go, OneXFly is betting on raw power.
