TSMC’s 2nm node is already in more demand than all the previous ones

Many times we may think that a single company may have a monopoly on a series of technologies, but that little by little others may catch up, causing the percentage of sales it has to decrease, but apparently, this is not the case with TSMC. And the company has established a sales record with its 5nm and 3nm nodes, something that seems not going to stop with the node of 2nmand they have such a high demand that it has already surpassed that of the previous two, something normal taking into account the company’s advances along with the need for companies to use semiconductors with this process.

During the last years TSMC has had an extremely important role in the technological advance that computing has had, since it is the main manufacturer that has managed to greatly overcome some of the physical limitations of the chips used in these devices. Although other companies have managed to develop their own processes that have indisputable quality, the Taiwanese company continues to be at the top, and not only have they achieved a large number of sales with the 5nm and 3nm nodes, but the following , 2 nm, already has a demand that exceeds these two.

The rise of TSMC has a great impact on its future developments

One of the key aspects that we find when we see a new technology is clearly the reliability it offers, whether in terms of results or commitment, these being the main reasons why a company dedicated to manufacturing parts for third parties can reach become one of the most important in the world. And this is the case of TSMC, since their developments have taken them on the right path, reaching the capacity to offer the most advanced processes currently in the world, which has allowed them to obtain a large number of clients from large caliber.

The Taiwanese company has a source of income that is largely related to the last two processes it has launched, since according to what they indicate, 32% of its income comes from the 5 nm node, while the 3 nm node would represent the 20% of what they achieve, leaving the rest of the processes they have in the other 48%, such as 7 nm that offers 17% of total income.

But all this could change with the next one that they plan to launch in 2025, and which would end up becoming the company’s main source of income in 2026, the 2nm one, which already has enough pre-orders from large companies. enough to become one of the most important, surpassing all the others. In this case, Apple, NVIDIA and AMD are expected to be the first customers of the 2nm node and with their increasing desire to manufacture high-performance chips, the 2nm node is expected to be used more than the 3nm node.
