Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy: Where to learn Avada Kedravra, Imperio and Crucio

WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS for Hogwarts Legacy

The Unforgivable Curses They have that name because their use is punishable by imprisonment in Azkaban Prison, as pointed out by “Alastor Moody” in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. However, the rules in Hogwarts Legacy are a little different: they are punishable and your allies don’t like you using them one bit, but you won’t go to prison. There is no karma systemso you’re going to have to roleplay.

In Hogwarts Legacy all three Unforgivable Curses are available, namely: the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra), the Cruciatus Curse (Crucio) and the Imperius Curse (Empire). To learn all three, you must follow Sebastian Sallow’s story, whose quests are secondary. Below you can see the quests in which you learn the three curses:

  • Cruciatus Curse (Crucio): Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Studio Shadows” quest, which will unlock as you progress through the main story. You must choose to learn it and use it or learn it and have it used against you. You have no further chances.
  • Imperius Curse (Empire): Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Shadows of Time” quest, which will unlock as you progress through the main story. Sebastian asks if you want to learn it just in case. You must accept at that point, otherwise there will be no other option.
  • Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra): Unlocked during Sebastian Pallow’s “Shadows of the Relic” quest, which will unlock as you progress through the main story. At the end of the quest, you must select the answers: “Everyone should know about this curse” and “Yes, please.”

You have to learn them at the right times. You won’t get another chance in any of the curses. The only repercussion for using them is that NPCs will make comments about you, nothing too special. Relationships and dialogue will remain exactly the same. Remember that you can try them out before getting them in the Dark Arts Arena, but you need to own the corresponding DLC.
