AMD's RX 9070 GRE just dropped to $499 — while every other GPU gets more expensive

The RX 9070 GRE 12GB hit $499 at Newegg — its lowest-ever price, $50 below its $549 MSRP — while Micro Center sells the XFX card for $479.

It's built on a cut-down Navi 48 die: 48 compute units, 3,072 stream processors, 12GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus, 432GB/s of bandwidth, 220W board power.

Nvidia's RTX 50-series is moving the opposite direction — RTX 5070 up 36% and RTX 5060 up 27% at the median of Newegg listings, driven by a DRAM shortage.

In Tom's Hardware's own 11-game test suite, the card averaged 120 FPS at 1080p and 86.6 FPS at 1440p — a 1440p card, not a 4K one.

12GB of VRAM is the ceiling to know before buying — plenty for gaming today, tight the moment you want to run serious local AI on it.
