What is Pirate Nition (PIRATE)? GameFi is listed on Coinbase

Pirate Nation – GameFi project is extremely hot recently when implementing a “large” season 1 airdrop for gamers based on the amount of points collected from playing the game, at the same time the project token is also listed on the exchange. Coinbase – One of the world’s leading exchanges caused the token price to increase sharply and attracted a lot of attention. From here, it created a wave that many people call “Play to Airdrop“. So what is Pirate Nation? Let’s find out in this article!

What is Pirate Nation?

Pirate Nation” is a new game full of sea adventures where players collect and send pirates on adventures to collect materials, treasures, and gold. Pirates can level up from their experience. More precisely, this is a role-playing NFT game with the theme of “pirate“, built on Ethereum and operating on Arbitrum Nova.

In addition, Pirate Nation is also a full on-chain (FOC) game, which means that all activities in the game will be recorded on the network, which ensures the decentralization of the game.

Game developed by Proof of Playa studio that combines gaming and blockchain technology, building games entirely on-chain and open-sourcing the technology to support other developers and the blockchain ecosystem.

Pirate Gold (PGLD), Marks (MARK) are the two main currencies used in the game and there are also Gems. These currencies are used to allow players to level up their Pirates and craft items.

Pirate Nation Gameplay

To start participating, players need to register an account with Pirate Character NFT or Enter code to get a free pirate NFT (game value only) and wallet link.

The tasks in the game will mainly be to perform missions, fight, build islands and also craft, upgrade ships, collect items, etc.

Players who complete advanced missions will unlock new missions and rewards, some of which can only be done every few hours or days with generous rewards.

As for combat, it will mostly revolve around PvE combat, fighting enemies or bosses to earn rewards.

Game elements

Pirate

Players choose a pirate as their captain and gain experience points (XP) from completing missions. Once they reach a certain level threshold, they can use Pirate Gold to upgrade their pirate. Higher level pirates have more energy and access to missions with better rewards.

There will be 2 main types of pirates, gen0 and gen1, representing 1 type of NFT from the collection and 1 type of free NFT that is only used for gaming and has no value.

Each pirate has an elemental attribute that gives them advantages and disadvantages in combat. These elements include: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Lightning.

Pirate Element
  • Damage: Bonus damage per attack
  • Evasion: Reduces the chance of being hit
  • Speed: Increases chance of first strike
  • Accuracy: Improve your ability to hit opponents
  • Health: Increases ship’s maximum health value in combat

Ship

In the game, ships also play an important role in deciding the combat gameplay. Most of the time, it is not difficult to get a ship to your liking when the supply has been exploited a lot during season 1 with a quite affordable price (under $100) or can be earned through crafting ships with required items.

And the most important and hardest thing to get for crafting a ship is High Sea Maps to collect the 4 ship pieces as required.

Each ship will have its own characteristics to suit each player’s desired gameplay. Specifically, there are currently 4 different types of ships in Pirate Nation:

Each ship in Pirate Nation has its own advantages and disadvantages.

  • Skiff: This is the default free ship for the player.
  • Sloop: Fast (with 6 AP) but weak (only 175 HP).

  • Galleon: Balanced (with 5 AP and 210 HP).

  • Frigate: Strong damage and good tankiness (with 245 HP and 5 AP).

Inventory

At the start, each player will have 150 maximum energy and after use it will be recharged at a rate of 1 energy/10 minutes.

Players select a pirate and then press the green button on the mission they want to start. All missions require energy, some require special items or pirate level, and some can only be done once and will have a time limit to unlock that mission. Pirates can do multiple missions in a row, solving them one at a time.

Bountines

In addition to performing missions, players can take pirates to earn additional rewards by performing Boutines missions, which require locking the pirate for a certain period of time until completed.

Gauntlet

This is where players will take their pirates and ships to fight opponents with 2 levels: Normal (Easy) and Hard (Difficult) and each level will have 5 levels to overcome.

After winning each level, players will receive random rewards and at the same time, this is also where players can upgrade their “command rank” through each level (+5 points each level).

Pirate Nation Gameplay

The game has two game modes:

  1. PvE: Player fights against computer.
  2. PvP: Battle between players (you can temporarily skip this mode because there are no rewards for this game mode)

Style play:

  • Withdraw card: Each round begins with the drawing of cards from pirates, ships, and items. Cards are the tools to deal damage, create armor, and control the battle. Success depends on card selection and the wise use of action points (AP).
  • Observe the opponent’s tactics: Monitor your opponent’s offensive or defensive intentions to shape your battle plan.
  • Act: After using the card and using AP, it is the enemy’s turn to retaliate. The player’s intelligence and strategy are the main weapons.

Battle Strategy:

  • Pirates’ Contribution: Pirates offer unique skills and expertise.
  • Train Cards and Items: Ships provide cards that match their characteristics, while items add cards that serve a specific purpose.

There will be many different types of cards with completely different functions, from cards that deal damage, heal, increase AP points or create shields, etc. This requires players to plan how to finish the cards they have to best suit their AP points.

World Boss

In the game, World Bosses are giant creatures like Megalodon, Sea Snake, Kraken, etc. Players coordinate to defeat them.

  • When the World Boss event is on, players can fight a World Boss every x hours.
  • The leaderboard records the total damage each player dealt to the World Bosses. If they are defeated before the event ends, the contributing players will receive rewards.
  • The top of the leaderboard gets the highest reward.
  • Players who deal a critical hit to take down a World Boss will receive a rare, unique NFT of that boss.
  • When a World Boss is defeated, it will be removed from the game permanently.

BOOTY Points season 2

Pirate Nation had a successful first season with a huge token airdrop based on BOOTY Points players collected through in-game activities. Since then, Pirate Nation has continued to deploy season 2 with a rapidly increasing number of players, so much so that they had to “line up” to play the game.

Season 2 has started since July 1 and has no end date yet. Players need to perform in-game activities such as upgrading pirates, fighting, doing quests, using energy, etc. to collect BOOTY Points.

Points will be the criteria for players to receive Airdrop tokens from the project, recognizing the level of contribution to the project’s development.

Currently, the use of code to mint pirate NFTs to play the game has been suspended due to player overload. If you want to participate, players need to buy pirate NFTs from NFT exchanges to start participating in the game.

summary

Pirate Nation is a GameFi project leading the trend of full on-chain and Play to Airdrop. With the success of season 1, the project has launched season 2, promising an even bigger explosion of the project.

With attractive gameplay, beautiful graphics and a novel way of developing the game, and at the same time allowing users to earn money playing the game based on the ability to Airdrop, the project clearly has great potential in the GameFi segment, especially when it is still growing strongly despite the recent sharp decline in the cryptocurrency market.
