Microsoft continues to update the Xbox ecosystem and improve the user experience for its players, whether they play on console, PC or via Cloud Gaming.
After recently updating its console’s OS, Xbox is taking advantage of the month of November to bring back a popular feature while improving its interface.
Find your friends
Abandoned in favor of a tracking function, friend requests are making a comeback on Xbox. Players can now become friends with someone again or choose to follow them. Xbox announces that “Friendships are reciprocal, invite-approved relationships, giving you greater control and flexibility over who can see your player data”indicates the blog from Xbox. If users choose to follow a person, they will only have access to public content shared by the followed person.
To manage all invitations, users on console are required to press the Xbox button on their controller and go to the People tab. Current player connections will be updated accordingly.
To go further
It’s official, the Xbox is no longer a gaming console
Improved search
The interface search system will also improve and “will provide more useful results to help you find your next game or related content faster, even when you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for”. Based on artificial intelligence, it will allow players to find specific games based on vague descriptions like “comfortable farming games with fishing” says Xbox.
We also learn that the functionality “ Jump back » tested with members of the Xbox Insiders program will be rolled out to all users. This feature allows players to easily resume the last game they played.
Xbox says all of these updates will be rolled out to all players over the coming weeks.
