Nintendo does not want users to use the console to navigate, since it is not its main function, hence the browser available on the system is hidden and is only shown if we change the console settings. This browser is only displayed when we connect to a Wi-Fi network where it is necessary to identify yourself through an account.
If we usually play with the Nintendo Switch connected to a Smart TVusing this function is fantastic if we want to browse the Internet in a big way, as long as it is necessary to show the information to more users, since, otherwise, using the mobile phone is more than enough.
Browse the Internet with the Nintendo Switch
For the Nintendo Switch to display the web browser on the screen, we must make a change to the settings of the Wi-Fi connection that we are using by changing the default DNS to those offered by SwitchBru.
SwitchBru is a third-party service that is not related to Nintendo, so it may have some type of malfunction and/or not display all web pages correctly. To access the Nintendo Switch web browser, we must follow the steps shown below.
- From the main screen of the console, we must click on the gear wheel to access the configuration options.
- Once inside the configuration options, we must access the Internet section and then click on Internet Settings.
- Next, we select the Wi-Fi network we want to connect to and click on the button Modify.
- Within the settings of the Wi-Fi network to which we are connected, we go to the section DNS settingswe select Manual Mode and in the DNS we first enter the following numbers: 45.55.142.122.
- Finally, we save the changes. Next, with the network selected, click on Connect to this network. At that moment, a window will be displayed where it invites us to register to access that network and where we must click on Continue The browser will open where we can enter the URL we want.
As expected and since Nintendo can do absolutely nothing to prevent users from using the Switch to connect to the Internet, the system is designed so that, after 20 minutes, it automatically turns off. close the browser.
If we no longer need the browser, we must delete DNS first thing we have established so that the console works as normal again.
Make good use of this trick
Changing the DNS of the Wi-Fi connection to which the console is connected is not a quick process. Additionally, we must remember which DNS we should use to replace the default values.
If you do not want to make these changes manually every time you need to use the web browser on the Nintendo Switch, if your router allows it, you can create a new Wi-Fi network, which we can call Switch to identify it quickly and when configure on the console, enter the SwitchBru DNS.
This way, to navigate with the console, you will only need to change the Wi-Fi network to which it is connected. If we can’t create a Wi-Fi network Additionally, we can configure the 2.4 GHz network of our router with the DNS of this platform and leave the 5 GHz network for when we do not need to use the browser.
