If the special horses in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom aren’t enough for you, maybe you’d like to tame a wild bear and ride it in style. Here’s how!
Where to find an emperor bear?
After completing the side quest “A Chuchu Model” with Soje in Elimith Village, he will offer to bring you a series of snapshots to make you some new fabrics to customize your parasail. One of his requests will be to take a picture of the emperor bear.
This animal is very rare but you can easily come across one in the Hebra Mountainsat the top left of the Hyrule map. On our side, we first saw it in front of the entrance to the cave that hides the Uao Osa shrine and not far from the Tau Yosipuni shrine in the western peak of Hebra.
How to ride the bear?
While it is not possible to bring a bear to a relay to register and keep it as a horse, you can still use it as a mount for as long as you want. It is also ideal for exploring the Hebra region because the bear is very resistant and does not fear the ice attacks of enemies as you can see in the video at the top of the article.
Before you can ride the bear, you’ll need to tame it by giving it a few blows with your sword. Then approach it and press A to use it as a mount: as with any horse, you’ll need to calm him down by pressing L repeatedly. Don’t forget to take the picture for Soje!
