Essential if you want to upgrade certain outfits to the maximum level, Zelda TotK’s blade scarabs are probably one of the most tiring resources to recover. In this guide we will see where to get them, how to catch them and what they are used for.

In the long list of ingredients for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, scarabs are among the rarest and those requiring the most cunning to be caught at the right time. In this new resource sheet, we show you where to get blade scarabs to improve an outfit.

Where to find blade scarabs?

This resource can only be found in a few forests in the southeast of the map, in the Necluda and Firone regions. To catch them, you will need to improve your stealth. thanks to the stealth outfit, to recover without spending all your rubies in Kakariko Village thanks to the Miasma Sickness side quest. Alternative solution: Use your ingredients to make silencio remedies thanks to the serenity fireflies. Once you have what you need to camouflage your presence, teleport to the nearest celestial sanctuary. Head to the forest between the lake and the Elimith village, near the place where you recovered the cheese recipe in the Tout un Fromage quest, from the Goutiée and Baldinn arc. Be careful, it must not rain if you plan to see them and if you miss them, you will have to wait until the next blood moon.

What are blade beetles used for?

Blade scarabs are used to make remedies and recipes that will improve your striking force. However, we recommend that you keep them preciously to improve one of Lambda’s treasures, the barbarian outfit, which is one of the best armor sets in the game, in our opinion. As usual, you can use them with the great fairies who are found in the 4 corners of Hyrule. For the other levels of improvement, you will also need blade flowers and components from these good old lynel.
