As Zelda Breath of the Wild veterans, we have several favorite armors that we rushed to find in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. The Climbing Armor is one of them, although admittedly it’s a lot less fundamental than it used to be, with all the vehicles available. Still, there are plenty of situations where using a vehicle isn’t possible, or practical, and you have to go the old-school way. With this armor, climbing becomes much faster and easier.
How to get the climbing outfit?
No need to go to all the shops in Hyrule, you won’t find it on the shelves. It’s in well-hidden chests, deep in various caves. Unless you know exactly where to look, it’s possible to finish the game without ever coming across them. We’ll show you their location individually, with their coordinates, a map and instructions each time.
Legs – Climbing shoes

Go to the entrance of a cave located under the Zoran Plateau Reconnaissance Tower. The coordinates of the entrance are: 2680, 0476, 0199. You have to cut vines to get in, or set them on fire.
Progress through the cave, you will eventually arrive in a flooded room, with ore veins partially underwater. The solution is to reach the bottom, anduse the power of Grasp, to lift the lock gate. All the water will then be siphoned out, allowing you to explore the area normally.
Go to the back right of the area, there is a door now accessible, which leads to a small altar with a chest containing the climbing shoes, at coordinates 2817, 0554, 0187.

The second part of the set is on the other side of Zoran’s region, in a cave in halfway up the estate’s large waterfall. It is possible to climb to reach the place, but it is better to jump from the Reconnaissance Tower, and land on the shrine overlooking the waterfall, before descending to the entrance of the cave, whose coordinates are 3643, 0535, 0270.
It is best to make some preparations before going there. Ideally, you will need: a way to increase your grip when climbingsuch as the frog armor set. Since it is difficult and time-consuming to obtain, it is better to fall back on food that increases grip, or even an elixir dedicated to this function. Indeed, the only obstacle in this cave is the fact that you have to climb steep and wet wallstherefore slippery.
You can try more creative solutions, such as a movable bridge that you move between the platforms, or even a flying machine narrow enough to fly in the area, such as a hot air balloon with a steering wheel and a turbine. You can also try lighting fires on the platforms, then using pine cones to produce gusts of wind, in order to fly away with your Paraglider. A similar effect can be produced with turbines, if the ambient rain is making things too difficult for you.
In any case, climb to the top of the cave, using the platforms on both sides to rest. As always, the Climbing Bandana is found in a chest, in a small dedicated altar.
Torso – Climbing glove

Even though it’s an armor that mainly covers the torso, it’s named “glove”, strangely enough. It’s the easiest part of the set to obtain. It’s located in a cave a stone’s throw from the North Hyrule Field Relay. This cave has two entrances, but it is easier and quicker to go through the upper one, which looks like a simple hole in the middle of the grassat the coordinates -1240, 0769, 0098.
Once inside the cave, follow the stream until you reach a small waterfall. As is often the case in video games, a passage is hidden behind the waterfallas indicated by the luminous reflections of the mushrooms present.
All that remains is to open the chest on the altar to obtain the tunic. Its exact coordinates are -1212, 0773, 0069.
How to improve the outfit to max level?
As in Zelda Breath of the Wild, you will need to have access to the 4 great fairies if you want to upgrade your equipment to the maximum. To do this, you will need to complete a series of essential side quests which starts at the forest relayafter which they will offer you their services in exchange for components. This is why you should always be careful to save some precious resources.
The bonus is activated when all 3 pieces of the set are upgraded to level 2, and you wear them all at the same time. It rreduces the Stamina cost when performing a jump while climbing. This means that you will be able to climb even faster, without necessarily wasting your effects.
