Right from the beginning of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you will quickly learn that Link is not able to resist the cold, especially when shirtless! Desperate, you therefore look for a more effective way than holding a simple torch, to face the icy breath of certain regions.
Where to find anti-cold clothing?
During the tutorial, on the Prelude Sky Island, you will easily find in a chest the “old lined shoes” that will allow you to withstand the mild temperature that reigns in the snowy areas. Unfortunately, this will not be enough in icy regions such as Hebra. If you are heading towards the main quest of Babil of Piaf Village, countering the great cold will be mandatory.
The simplest solution remains to reach the Piaf Village and purchase at least one piece of equipment in the store to obtain the Level 2 of the anti-cold effect. Buy another one if you want to get level 3 and resist any kind of cold, even outdoors.

Other tips for resisting the cold
And if you don’t want to spend rubies on an expensive outfit, you can rely on a few other techniques to deal with the icy wind:
- You can wear a torch inflamed or a firearm,
- Remember that you can make a fire at any time by taking a bundle of wood and a flint from your inventory. Place them on the ground and hit the flint with a metal weapon (e.g. sword),
- Thanks to soneau technology, you can use a portable pot at any time and therefore cook anti-cold dishes whenever you want,
- Among the anti-cold recipeswe find the Pikpik sautéed peppers, the Pikpik fruit chutney (with 1 apple + 1 pepper + 1 celestial mushroom), or even the Pikpik fruit and mushroom plate (with 1 pepper + 2 mushrooms).
- The best dish remains the first one, adding 5 peppers for an anti-cold duration of 12 minutes 30!
