Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is full of direct references to previous games in the series, with alternate outfits for Link, which take his appearance from the different titles. But the most notable of all is probably that of the Demon God, for several reasons. In addition to its pronounced martial aspect, it is accompanied by a magnificent moon sword (we would think more and more in Elden Ring). And above all, it has the same statistics as the excellent Barbarian Outfit, since it increases the attack power too. As a bonus, it has an appearance that should please a lot more people.
How to get the Demon God outfit?
Owners of the Amiibo Link (Majora’s Mask) just have to scan it, in order to unlock the armor in the statue shop, in exchange for spirits. But for the others, you will have to continue to tour the caves. Prepare yourself to travel a lot.
Down with Lambda’s treasure
This step isn’t mandatory, but it provides more context for what’s to come, hints, and some nice dialogue. You’ll need to do this for the final step of gathering the Demon God’s gear, so you might as well take a little detour.
See you at Lake Ofroyd, East of the continent. The Quisi Nona Sanctuary is the nearest fast travel point. Go a little north, you will find a tent by the lake, as well as two adventurers sitting in front of a cave: Domida and Prissène, treasure hunters from Lambda. They tell you that the cave is full of chests containing only one Ruby each, and that they do not have the courage to look for the one with the treasure.
These lazy people nevertheless give a clue, feed the dog nearby will take you directly to the correct chest. If you give it to him 4 apples or 3 pieces of raw meat at oncehe should lead you to the treasure by himself. You know when your friendship with the dog is high enough, when he sets off.
The alternative is to open all the chests, or look at the image below, in order to open the right chest directly. It is towards the back left of the cave. You must use the Grip to dig it up.

This piece of armor is pretty close to the intro quest. Head to the top of the Akkala Fortress, further east. If you already have the Sanctuary of Domi Zuinoyou can teleport directly to the location. Otherwise, use a Reconnaissance Tower to arrive from the skies, if possible.
Explore the ruins, but be careful, miasma hands lurk. There is a small passage in the corner of a room in the main building. You have to crouch to get through. Its exact coordinates are 3283, 1501, 0416.
Inside is a hole, which leads to an altar, with a lambda chest containing the armor. In the next room is an Elusis.

Now set your sights on the far North, since theSkull Pond is located above Death Mountain on the map. Try to arrive via the skies, since you will have to dive into theright eye of the skullthe one in the shape of a column. The other would lead you into the depths.
It is possible to speed up your fall to speed down the vertical tunnel in style, but if you’re afraid of killing yourself, take your time.
Once at the bottom of the cave, you will have to face skeletons, and especially a big boss Stalnox. Using a good bow, as well as an Amalgam fusion between your arrow and an eye, you can easily snipe the boss’s eye (Is that where the expression “an eye for an eye” comes from?), which will leave him vulnerable for a few moments. When his health is low, his eye will fall to the ground, and you can attack him in melee.
If you are having trouble, you can also simply run away and climb the embankment in the middle of the room, above which is the altar and the chest, in which the helmet is located.

The final part of the set is surprisingly close to the starting point of the main adventure, as it is hidden in a cave in the southwest of the plains of Hyrules: the worm-eaten thousand-year-old tree.
Cross the wooden bridge, or climb the trunk, you know the drill: jump into the hole. You will arrive in a room full of roots and bats.
Look for the exit blocked by vines, which you will have to cut or burn, then climb the roots to their top in the next room, in order to reach the chest containing the boots.
The exact coordinates of the chest are -1107, -0545, 0035. With the last part of the set in hand, we can go and get the sword.
Demon God’s Greatsword
Return to the cave of the Lake Ofroydthe one with all the chests to open. Think about Equip all 3 pieces of the Demon King Outfit before. Upon entering the chest room, a door will automatically open, with one last chest to open. Inside, you will find the Demon God’s Greatsword, which has 38 attack. Be aware, however, thatit is not indestructible, that would be a little too easy.
How to improve the outfit to max level?
As in Zelda Breath of the Wild, you will need to have access to the 4 great fairies if you want to upgrade your equipment to the maximum. To do this, you will need to complete a series of essential side quests which starts at the forest relayafter which they will offer you their services in exchange for components. This is why you should always be careful to save some precious resources. In the case of the Demon God’s Outfit, the cost is quite prohibitive.
The bonus activates when all 3 pieces of the set are upgraded to level 2, and you are wearing them all at once. It grants a reduction in the stamina cost of charged attacks. This is especially useful with two-handed weapons while you are spinning.
Unfortunately, this is one of the hardest gear sets to upgrade in the game. You’ll have to kill a lot of bosses and tough enemies just to level up to level 1, and it gets worse after that.
