Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Magic Wand: How to Create This Powerful Amalgam Weapon?

Abracadabra! Link can transform into Harry Potter for a few minutes if you create a magic wand worthy of the name in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Mastering the elements, even the most fearsome wizards of Hyrule will be amazed by his talent.

How and why create a magic wand?

The big new feature of Zelda TotK is being able to create all sorts of vehicles and weapons by assembling parts or by fusing objects with Amalgam. You can thus make a mallet that destroys rocks, simply by adding a rock on a stick, bomb arrows for your bow, or powerful weapons by mixing spears with Soneau artifacts.

One of the hundreds of possibilities is none other than the magic wand ! No need to go kill a few Wizards even if it is potentially more optimal in order to save resources. However, there are not wizards on every street corner and having your own wand can be very useful in certain situations.

To build it, take out a precious stone from your inventory and place it on the ground. Then arm yourself with a staff or any one-handed weapon, and use the Amalgam power to fuse the two objects. Note that it is also possible to craft two-handed magic wands: this will send larger projectiles.

The different types of magic wand

Depending on the material used, the magic wand will then have different powers:

  • Opal : water magic wand
  • Topaz : lightning wand (or kill an electric wizard)
  • Sapphire : ice magic wand (or kill an ice wizard)
  • Ruby : fire wand (or kill a fire wizard)
  • Shooting star : magic wand of light

Attention

Be careful though. Using gemstones is not recommended early in the game because they are one of the important resources to conserve. Using them to create weapons will wear them out and eventually break them, which is a shame since they could have been used to obtain some precious rubies. So, if you build a wand, use it sparingly and only in cases where you want to attack powerfully from a distance with a useful element (water against a Vase Like for example).

Good to know : it is possible to remove the Amalgam thanks to the special NPC in the village of Euzéro who dissociates the two objects without loss for 20 rubies.
