Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Playtime: How to see how many hours you spent playing?

On its previous console, the 3DS, Nintendo had made available a library where it was possible to check the number of hours spent on your different games and even your applications. Such a feature is not active on the Nintendo Switch and it becomes particularly complex to know how much time you have on Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for example. However, there are still two options to obtain this data.

Option One: Check your Nintendo profile

To get an approximate estimate of your playing time on Zelda TotK, simply click on your profile iconat the top left of the HOME menu. Once in this option, you will be able to see, on the right, your friend code and the time spent on your recent games. The problem is that the number will never be exact and the console will only tell you “more than 100 hours” or “more than 3 days”. It is therefore impossible to know exactly in how much time you finished it and to compare this score to the estimated lifespan of the title.

Second option: enable parental controls

If you want a much more precise data, the only solution is to activate parental controls on your console and download the associated mobile application. Unfortunately, you must have registered your console before starting to play Zelda TotK because the result will not be retroactive.

  1. Download themobile application (iOS or Android) Nintendo Parental Controls,
  2. Follow the instructions on your phone to pair the console you want to control and set the rules for its use, whether you have children or not,
  3. Once you have played, you will be able to obtain automatic monthly reports via the app but also consult it at any time to see the number of hours spent on a game,
  4. More information about the Nintendo official website.

Initially, this application is precisely used to control children’s screen time and limit their gaming time thanks to the software’s pause feature, but you can very well use it to view your own data.
