Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Rebirth Shrine: Where to find this iconic BotW location?

A direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, the recent Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is obviously full of references to the first opus released on Nintendo Switch in 2017. Link can even return to the place where he woke up, after a long sleep of a hundred years. Discover what awaits you at the Plateau du Prélude in TotK.

The Shrine of Rebirth in Breath of the Wild

If you’ve played BotW, then you probably remember the beginning of the game very clearly. Stripped naked, Link wakes up from a 100-year sleep in a damp cave without his gear or weapons. There he discovers the Sheikah technology who will accompany him until the end of the adventure. In TotK, Link also wakes up in a cave but, this time, on a celestial island that has nothing to do with the Sanctuary of Rebirth.

With the story taking place just a few years after BotW, the map of Hyrule has changed a bit but many iconic locations from the first game are still present. This is the case of the famous Shrine of Rebirth.

Where to find the Prelude Plateau in TotK?

Exactly the same place as in Breath of the Wild. Makes sense, but hard to find if you haven’t played it. Here’s the exact spot on the map you need to aim for:

On site, you will find the ruins of the Temple of Time where you could meet the king of Hyrule, Roam, in BotW. This time, you can open a chest containing a Nostalgic Cloth for your parasail.

A little further you can find the cave of sanctuary of rebirth. Once inside, you will notice that wooden crates strangely reminiscent of those from BotW, with a pool of water as well. Don’t forget to shoot the Elusis to get its crystal. Move forward to find a hole at the bottom of the cave: it is a Yiga camp with many rewards up for grabs including an assembly engraving for your Duplicate power.
