The Rough Diamond is a rare resource in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and is one of the gems that you can sometimes find on the Surface of Hyrule. Once you get one, you’ll probably want to find more.
What are rough diamonds used for?
Rough diamonds have three main uses:
- The resale : selling a diamond will earn you 500 rubies! Enough to easily buy one of the outfits in the village shops or part of your dream house,
- Strengthening weapons : use Amalgam to combine a weapon with a diamond and thus obtain something very powerful,
- The improvement of outfits: go to the Great Fairies.
Tip: Always sell your gemstones to Labira in Goron Village as she will buy them for more than anywhere else.
Where to find diamonds?
Unfortunately, we are not in Minecraft and finding diamonds will be difficult in Zelda TotK. However, there are a few ways to get them:
- A merchant at Goron Village sells them to you for 1000 rubies each if you really need them,
- The best way to get them is to complete the secret shrines that are labeled “Blessing of Rauru” like those of the Free Fall Outfit,
- By breaking the golden rock clusters (very rare) likely to yield a diamond: you can find them more easily in the Depths or in the area around Death Mountain (Ordinn),
- When fighting a Rare Lithorok: you have a high chance of obtaining a diamond.
