Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Star Fragment: Where to find it and what is it for?

The Star Fragment is an extremely rare resource in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that you should definitely not ignore if you see one. Here’s what it’s used for.

What are star fragments used for?

Star fragments are mainly used to improve outfits from the Great Fairies. Collect them when you see them because they are very rare and allow you to upgrade most of Link’s outfits from older games such as the Dream Outfit for example, the Twilight Outfit, Sheik’s Mask or the Wind Outfit from Wind Waker. If you are not interested, you can always sell at 200 rubies each.

And finally, you can also use Amalgam on a Star Fragment to merge to a shield : this will then light up the surroundings. This is particularly useful for the Depths, but we recommend that you opt for the Miner’s Outfit for this. Combined with a weapon, you will form a magic wand that shoots luminous projectiles from a distance.

Star Fragment

This mysterious star fragment that fell from the sky is so precious that its market value is very high, but it seems that it is also capable of illuminating the surroundings.

Where to find it : falls from the sky randomly, to be picked up on the ground or in mid-air

Utility : resale, lighting, outfit improvement

Where to find star fragments?

The spawn rate of Star Fragments is extremely low. It is therefore possible that you will never come across one during a game session. The only advice we can give you is to not miss it if you see one falling from the sky or one already on the ground: you can spot it from quite far away thanks to the white net that escapes from him. Note that if you travel in the Skies of Hyrule, it is possible to come across one and catch it in mid-flight before it falls to the Surface.

Be careful though, if you spot a star fragment in the distance: hurry up and go get it because it won’t stay around for very long.
