Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Tabos Animals: Where to find the Skeleton Horse, Deer and Bear?

This new mission of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is quite simple but requires knowing where to look for some special mounts on the map of Hyrule. Find the video guide at the top of the article but also the written and illustrated version below with the precise locations of the animals of Tabos. You will get some rubies as a reward but also relay points!

Start of the mission “The animals of Tabos”

Heading to the Meadows Edge Lodge in the Central Hyrule Region, southwest of Fort Watch, you’ll come across a certain Tabos standing right next to the horses outside, looking for some very special mounts. The catch is that you’ll need to not just find them and take a picture of them, but calm them down, mount them, and bring them to his sight. You can teleport to the Tut Ume Shrine for a quicker time.

Where to find the skeleton horse?

You may have already encountered skeleton horses while exploring the Depths, and you may think about going there to find one to bring back to the Surface. Rather than embark on this tedious or even impossible task, we recommend simply going a few meters west of the Relay, into the Ruins of Sandine Park. Wait until it gets dark (or make a campfire) to see a skeleton horse appear a few steps away from you.

Like any horse, you must approach the skeleton discreetly, while remaining crouched, then run behind it to mount it by pressing A. Once on the horse, quickly press L to calm it down and be able to take it back to the relay to show it to Tabos.

Where to find the mountain deer or the emperor bear?

For the second mount, Tabos gave you the choice between capturing a Mountain Deer or an Emperor Bear. The first can be found quite easily in the small forests north of the relay but it is a very fearful creature that will not hesitate to charge at you before running away. You must therefore trap it by running on its side and mount it.

For the bear, once again, there is no point in going very far. You can go to the Forest of Dalie just west of the relay, where you can find an Emperor Bear. Before you can ride on it, you will have to show it your strength by attacking it, preferably from a distance with an arrow.
