If you’ve played Zelda Breath of the Wild, visiting the Yiga lair may bring back a lot of memories, possibly painful ones. But this time, everything should go better in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, especially with our instructions.
Yigas Lair Position
The main entrance is located in the southwest of the continent, in the area serving as a junction between the Gerudo Desert Canyon and the Snowy Highlands. The coordinates are -3766, -1418, 0323.
Infiltration among the Yigas: how to enter?
You will meet a character as naive as he is malicious at the entrance, who wants to obtain the secrets of the Yigas. But he gets the door slammed in his face, since he does not have the corresponding outfit. The doorman is nevertheless quite helpful, since he explains how to obtain permission to enter: explore the Yiga bases and obtain the complete outfit of the clan. If you have it in your possession, all you have to do is equip it and open the door. If not, you can find all the details in the guide below.
Shops
Once inside the lair, you have access to several vendors offering exotic goods, specific to the Yigas:
- Bananas, of course.
- Sly swords and sabers of defiance, be careful, they are expensive.
- A spike plate for a vehicle, sold for 100 Rupees.
- Probably the most interesting product of the bunch: a Double-Notch Bow, which shoots two arrows at once.
The next room contains two mechanics, who are willing to sell you their vehicles built from Soneaux artifacts: a motorcycle and a sled. Their price is very high, 999 Rupees and 100 Rupees respectively, but it is halved if you are an officer. It is clearly not worth that much.
Combat training
Arriving in the large room of the lair, then climbing the ladder, you will reach a Yiga officer organizing combat training. The principle is simple: you pay 100 Rubies, which gives you one minute to kill the requested number of Yiga ninjas. If successful, you will be offered a reward.
You are required to complete the trial once per stage and per reward. It will automatically stop at 3 enemies killed the first time, then at 6 enemies the second time, and finally, at 9 enemies. Since the first attempt is free, you will have to pay 200 Rubies minimum, by succeeding each trial on the first try.
The last step can be tricky to pull off. Our solution was to use a good quality spear, and add a powerful horn to it to get a very fast weapon with good reach and high damage. This is a combination that the Yigas had no chance of escaping. By attacking as soon as their teleport cloud appears, you can kill them easily and reach the objective in 30 seconds or less.
Rewards: Earth Shock and Lightning Mask
- Completing the trial against 3 enemies grants you a new Parasail canvas.
- The one facing 6 enemies teaches you the famous Telluric Shock techniquewhich the great Yigas use. It can be used by charging an unarmed attack. Unfortunately, it does not work to break rocks.
- Finally, once you’ve killed 9 enemies, you’ll find a big nod to the previous game, with the lightning mask. Thanks to it, you’ll be able to use metal equipment, even in the middle of a storm, without ending up looking like a grilled chicken.
Rotu Mam Sanctuary
By taking the back exit of the Yigas’ lair, you will access an abyss, and especially a Sanctuary that is difficult to access otherwise. The abyss leads to a Yigas depot in the depths. The Sanctuary does not, however, offer you its reward directly, unlike that of the Officers’ Competition. You will have to play with swings and counterweights, but it is quite easy, especially with Retrospective.
