4 years later, Android users can finally search a message by date

It took patience from Android users for WhatsApp to finally give them the ability to search for a message by date. It is now done, as Mark Zuckerberg announced on his official channel. The functionality was already available on PC, iOS and web. We explain how to use it.

That’s it, it is finally possible to filter the message search by date on the Android version of WhatsApp. It could not be easier. Just use the new icon that appears on your screen when you search. Here are the steps to follow :

1. Open WhatsApp on your Android smartphone
2. Then open the conversation of your choice
3. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right of the screen
4. Select To research
5. A calendar icon appears at the top right of your screen
6. Tap on it and select the date you want

The application will then automatically go to the selected date. All you have to do is type a keyword in the search bar or simply scroll through the messages to find that rare gem.
