According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, The 2024 iPad Pro would finally arrive with an M4 chip, instead of the M3 that was rumored until now. The company’s objective, according to the aforementioned journalist, is to provide this iPad model with AI functions, since the M4 chip will have an updated Neural Engine, which will allow it to execute more complex artificial intelligence tasks compared to those can run M3 chip.
In fact, and according to several leaks, iOS 18 will be packed with artificial intelligence features, including generative AI features in apps like Apple Music, an improved search engine to compete against ChatGPT, and more. These features will most likely also be available in iPadOS 18which could officially arrive in the fall of this year.
At the moment, however, there are no technical details about the processor or what improvements it will have compared to the current M3 chip.
