Apple Watch X: a new concept leaves us quite perplexed

A new concept ofApple Watch, which could be released this fall, has just appeared on YouTube. However, we discover an appearance which, although the opposite is mentioned, does not really correspond to the expectations concerning this device. Indeed, the design presented in the video still gives pride of place to a chassis with rounded corners, even though this is not what the manufacturer intended. And for good reason: its new connected watch should be completely revamped, compared to the models that preceded it since 2015. Because yes, the range will soon celebrate its tenth anniversary.

Despite everything, the wearable presented in these images seems thinner than ever. And in fact, it is rumored that the Apple Watch X will indeed be the thinnest ever released by the manufacturer. For several months, we also believe that the latter has been working on a solution allowing you to measure blood glucose levels with your watch. Numerous patents suggest this, as well as clues left by the journalist from Bloomberg Mark Gurman. But nothing has been confirmed yet.

New software features planned in advance

This concept remains rather stingy with new software, and for good reason: Apple would not have a lot of it under its belt. Indeed, the company, by deciding to focus on a new design, would not have focused more on the development of watchOS 11. The update, minor, therefore, should be revealed shortly. The Worldwide Developer Conference is scheduled for June, with an opening keynote scheduled for the 10th. It is during this event that the new operating system for connected watches will undoubtedly be unveiled. Much information about the content of iOS 18, which should be released at the same time, has already leaked. But nothing about watchOS 11, at least, to our knowledge.

The few new features of watchOS 11 which will be revealed during the Worldwide Developer Conference could then quickly be available in beta version. But first of all for third-party developers, who should be able to test the new features from the evening of June 10 (Paris time). A public beta version, more open, is expected for the month of July. Finally, Apple could deploy the public version of watchOS 11, iOS 18 or even macOS 15 and iPadOS 18 in September, if the company does not deviate from its habits.

Apple Watch X: two other new features expected

According to Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch blood pressure sensor. This technology makes it possible to measure blood pressure, and warns you if it is too high. It is then advisable to consult a doctor, given that such an alert can be synonymous with cardiac complications in certain cases.

At the same time, know that the Apple Watch X (the name remains to be confirmed) could also allow us to track sleep apnea. Many sensors are already present under the chassis of current models, some of which could be used for the occasion. We know in particular that a heart rate sensor is included, as is a blood oximeter, a gyroscope or even an accelerometer.

The rumored new Apple Watch The conference dedicated to this purpose should take place this fall.

  • A new concept video released shows us what the Apple Watch X could look like
  • The design does not seem very close to the rumors evoking the future look of the connected watch
  • The new Apple Watch could be released in September
