Apple’s departure leaves a huge void in China

We have been talking to you about the relocation of iPhone production for several years now. Apple, which considers itself a little too dependent on China, wants its subcontractors, and in particular the main one, Foxconn, to move towards other places such as India and Vietnam. .

An abandoned industrial park

A report produced by China Observer precisely shows the concrete consequences of this strategy on the ground. Thus, the Foxconn industrial park in Nanning is today deserted. This place, which once housed 50,000 employees, now sounds very hollow and the images are clearly impressive.

As our colleagues indicate from AppleInsider, neighboring areas were also impacted. The buildings built to house factory employees are having difficulty finding buyers, despite significant promotions.

We are struck by watching this video. Indeed, everything is moving very quickly in China, and if economic growth can happen suddenly, the decisions of Apple and other Tech giants can change things at lightning speed.

As a reminder, the CEO of the Cupertino company recently made a very notable visit to Vietnam. In particular, he met several business leaders, suppliers, and application developers in the country’s capital Hanoi.

If no official statement was made, the CEO would have confirmed to his interlocutors the apple brand’s desire to increase investments on site. We also know that Vietnam already manufactures iPads and Apple Watches in large numbers. For more information, you can always re-read our article on this subject here.
