Do you have an Intel 13th generation K series processor? Those people are already retired.

A few weeks ago, NVIDIA announced that it was discontinuing its GTX graphics cards entirely. Well, now another product discontinuation is happening. In this case it’s an Intel product and it’s pretty amazing. According to the official product change notice: intelThe company suspended all services. Core-K processor ~ Of 13th generation. These will hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2022.

We know that gravity can bend space-time, but now we’ve discovered a new force with these properties. Intel has sped up the clock, making a product that was released just over a year old no longer useful.

Intel Core-K discontinued

We must say that it is not completely new and responds to several factors. The first is that the 14th generation Intel Core-K is already on the market and new processors will be released by the end of the year. This means they need to free up part of the production line, which can only be achieved by discontinuing the perfectly valid Raptor Lakes.

It must be taken into account that Intel has some problems in meeting the demand. There are so many of them GPU Alchemist Some low-cost processors are produced by TSMC. Solving this problem is very difficult because building and operating a new plant takes two to three years and costs billions of euros.

Official notices of product changes affecting processors. Core i9-13900KS, Core i9-13900K, Core i9-13900KF, Core i7-13700K, Core i7-13700KF, Core i5-13600K and Core i5-13600KF. We assume that starting May 24, 2024, the company will no longer be accepting orders for this chip. Additionally, the last shipping date is scheduled for June 28th.

As usual, availability of Raptor Lake processors in the Core-K range will be reduced after this date. It’s not uncommon to see processors being resold in short supply due to exorbitant prices. However, purchasing a new product available in the market will solve your problem. We have 14th generation on the market and the alternative is AMD Ryzen.

Perhaps after the summer we’ll see the same thing happen with the remaining Raptor Lake processors. Remember that Intel will release Core-K first and then the rest of the Core chips a few months later. Core-K was released in Q4 2022 and the remaining chips were released in Q1 2023. Depending on the path taken, a complete discontinuation of the 14th generation processors could be announced by September.

Raptor Lake is still a very good option.

It’s important to keep in mind that what Intel is doing is not removing support, but rather removing the product from the catalog. A very interesting processor that offers higher frequencies, more cache and more efficiency cores than Alder Lake. It is also a good alternative that can compete perfectly with AMD Ryzen 7000 in games.

The strangest thing of all is that there is no evidence that Alder Lake (12th generation) has been discontinued. This is very unusual, as we first start with the oldest available generation and then work our way up. Anyone can draw a conclusion and let us know in the comments.
