For several years now, Ikea has offered numerous products dedicated to home automation in its catalog. Since 2019, the Swedish furniture kit giant has accelerated the launch of low-cost connected objects, such as Tradfri bulbs and Symfonisk speakers.
The company has even launched a special division dedicated to the development of devices for a connected home: HomeSmart. To make the most of the capabilities of the connected socket and control it remotely, for example, Ikea recommends pairing it with its DIRIGERA home automation hub or its Tradfri gateway or connect it to the application available on Android and iOS Ikea Home Smart. Note that it is also possible to control it with a voice assistant such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Home or Google Home thanks to the integrations present in the Home Smart app.
According to the product data sheet, it is possible to pair up to 10 sockets to a remote control or detector. In other words, for less than a hundred euros, or the price of around ten Tretakt connected sockets, you can create a rather complete installation capable of supporting the majority of your devices at home. Finally, let us point out that the power of the connected objects plugged into the socket increases up to 3680Wwhich gives you a vast catalog of compatible devices.
