It has been rumored for some time to include an AD103 GPU on the NVIDIA RTX 4070 instead of carrying the usual AD104. It seems that day has arrived, since from TechPowerUP One of these models has been seen with this new GPU. The NVIDIA RTX 4070 (not SUPER) view with new GPU includes version AD103-175despite being a chip usually included in the top range, the NVIDIA RTX 4070 that includes this GPU will not introduce new features.
This means that the NVIDIA RTX 4070 with the AD103 will have the same CUDA cores as the usual version found with the AD104. Only this new version will have to disable more cores to fit specifications of the NVIDIA RTX 4070. This technique is used by NVIDIA to be able give way to GPUs that you cannot install in other models of graphics, something common among cards distributed in Asia.
GPU-Z has detected one of these NVIDIA RTX 4070 from MSI Ventus 3X model with AD103-175 GPU. At the moment GPU-Z has not recognized this modelbut surely will be updated soon to support this and the other models that will change the GPU such as the NVIDIA RTX 4060 Tiwhich will have a variant with the AD104 instead of using the AD106 that we have usually seen.
