The players of World of Warcraft Classic will be delighted. Within a month, they will be able to discover the next expansion, the one that brings cataclysm to the lands of the world of Azeroth. This is a reissue of the third DLC which will take you into a world of destruction, fire and challenges. WoW Cataclysm Classic will be available from May 21 next for all players.
A year and a half after the release of the expansion Wrath of the Lich King Classic, it’s time to discover a moving narrative, almost reconciling this world with the underworld of another famous Blizzard franchise. In terms of story, the studio explains:
“You overthrew the undead armies of the Lich King and ended the reign of Arthas. And now Deathwing, the breaker of worlds, emerges from the heart of the Maelstrom and unleashes his rage. All souls will burn under the shadow of his wings.”
If you played the first version of World of Warcraft, you obviously know the events that will take place in Cataclysm. In truth, this third major update ties WoW Classic ever closer to the state of the original game. It is nevertheless possible to skip your turn when the DLC arrives by remaining on the servers of the classic era of Blizzard. For everyone else, here is the new content that awaits you from May 21:
New maximum level
- Reach new heights defending Azeroth and gain new talents up to level 85.
Customize your character
- Spice up your appearance a little with the transmog system. Customize the appearance of certain weapons and armor while maintaining their characteristics.
New Dungeons and Raids
- The brave who defend Azeroth can fight their way through seven tumultuous dungeons and four cataclysmic new raids.
Seize the Elemental Planes
- Deathwing has damaged the boundary between the mortal and elemental planes, and chaotic elementals are sweeping across Azeroth. You must stop him!
Large areas
- Explore seven new zones and three starting zones for the two new races, the Goblins and Worgen, and reignite your thirst for adventure within cataclysmic content.
Pay attention from April 30
Just before the official release of Cataclysm on PC, players will be able to download a pre-patch from April 30. This will best prepare for all upcoming in-game changes. In a post on X, the studio details the roadmap for its upcoming releases. Content is expected from July 2024 to January 2025, with several highlights, details of which will be revealed in the coming months.
