This is how Microsoft will force you to use it

Although most users don’t like it at all, the software giant uses the operating system to try to convince us to use certain of its own products. This is something that we can find in such important sections as the start menu, the lock screen, or the Settings application.

Among the many platforms and programs that it promotes in this way, one of the most recurring is its Edge browser. We tell you all this because at this time Windows we are going to find ourselves again with full screen pop-up windows to promote this product. On certain occasions in the past, we have come across full screen promotional banners to Microsoft 365 or the OneDrive platform.

Now this annoying advertising that Microsoft presents to us focuses on the aforementioned web browser. The software giant is testing full-screen promotional recommendations to convince us to use Edge. In the message, the operating system urges us to finish configuring the PC. While in the past this appeared when we started using Windows from scratch or after a major update, things have changed substantially.

Now Microsoft shows these advertising messages in full screen at any time and without us waiting for it. There is no doubt that this can represent a significant annoyance for the majority of users who suffer from it.

This is Edge’s full-screen advertising

In addition to recommending us for finish setting up the equipmentthe advertising message tells us that will do a security copy of the files in OneDrive and will restore Microsoft Edge as the default browser. In parallel, the company offers us a subscription to Microsoft 365, configures the Phone app and activates Windows Hello.

In the mentioned full screen advertising We will have the possibility of Windows making these changes automatically, or suggesting that it remind us in 3 days. And not only that, if we click on the Continue button, the operating system alone activates the recommendations function in the start menu.

This is another new feature integrated into the system that proposes and recommends the use of certain applications from the official store. This includes not only programs from Microsoft itself, but also from third parties.

There is no doubt that with this movement what Microsoft intends is for us to choose to use its Edge browser by default in Windows. Furthermore, we recommend using your Search Engine bing also by default on our team. To do this, fix the browser icon on the desktop and in the taskbar, in case there are any doubts. Due to everything mentioned, it can be considered excessively intrusive and annoying advertising for the majority.

This is not the first time it has happened on our Windows computer. And despite the complaints of most users about this advertising by Microsoft, the software giant does not seem to be changing its mind in the near future. In fact, it is most likely that these full screen advertising messages continue to grow in number.
