Nvidia's mid-range GPU just got 88% more expensive. AMD's barely moved

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB median US price hit $805 in August 2026, up 39% from June and 88% above its $429 launch MSRP

RX 9060 XT 16GB is holding near $423-430, close to its $349 launch MSRP

The price jump is driven by GDDR7 memory costs; Nvidia's 16GB cards use more GDDR7 than AMD's GDDR6-based competitor, so they took the bigger hit

On paper the RTX 5060 Ti has real advantages: 448GB/s memory bandwidth vs 320GB/s, more AI-accelerator cores, and full CUDA support

At the current $380 price gap, those advantages get a lot harder to justify unless you specifically need CUDA

Buy call

RX 9060 XT 16GB for value and gaming; RTX 5060 Ti 16GB only if CUDA is a hard requirement for your workflow.
