The Amazon Prime deal cuts an ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT 16GB from $800 to $715 — an 11% discount, but off a list price well above AMD's real $599 reference MSRP.

The same week, a Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC model was listed at $549.99 at Walmart, and other 16GB models sat at $669.99 and $689.99.

The RX 9070 XT has swung from a roughly $975 peak in May 2025 back toward its $599 launch price over the past year.

Nvidia is separately giving away a full RTX 5080 Founders Edition for free via a social media entry — genuinely zero-cost, if low-odds.

This lands the same week Chinese distributors raised RTX 50-series prices up to 59% — the market is trending up, which makes price history matter more, not less.

I don't think PC Guide is wrong, exactly — $715 for a 16GB card that benchmarks well is a legitimate price. I just think "saves you $85" is doing a lot of work to make an average deal sound like a…
