You will be able to contribute for the trial periods you have worked, but it will be expensive

We tell you all this because a new order related to this issue has just been approved. Based on this, from now on we will have the possibility of quoting those trial periods that we have worked on in the past. By simply meeting a series of simple requirements we will be able to recover the internship periods and contribute for retirement. If you are interested, say that this can be carried out starting next June 1, that is, in just a few weeks.

Also, it is important to know that this is a new order that has already been published in the Official State Gazette or BOE, comes into force on the aforementioned date. From that moment on we will have the possibility of requesting the recovery of these trial periods up to a maximum of five years of internship. Obviously, all this in order to count as years contributions for our retirement in the future. This is something that many workers in our country have been requesting for years.

And there are people who have accumulated a good number of years of internships that they do not want to lose. Below we will talk to you about the essential requirements to be able to carry out what we are telling you.

Requirements to quote the years of internship worked

Once we know all this and if we have several months or years of internship accumulated, let’s see how to make them contribute for retirement. We have already told you before that we can carry out this procedure for a maximum of 5 years. Furthermore, if we have unpaid internships, these must have been carried out before January 1 of this year 2024.

🔴 Today is a very important day. I have signed the order that facilitates the recovery of internship periods as contributory years.

On the other hand, we find the paid practices that we have accumulated. Well, these must have been produced before November 1, 2011 and there is no age limit here. Of course, it is very important to know that to achieve all this, it will not come cheap.

And a reducing coefficient of 0.77 will be applied, which means that we will have to pay around 290 euros for each month recovered. This means that the applicant has to pay those 290 euros as contribution base for each month you want to recover. Likewise, Social Security presents us with two forms of payment: a single payment, or in installments. We can carry out the process through the Social Security website once the deadline opens next June, from this link.

To give us a more approximate idea, if we want to recover two years of internship for retirement, a priori we will have to pay 6960 euros: 290 euros for 24 months.

Say that this new order establishes a maximum period of two years to formalize the request. This means that we will have to carry out the aforementioned procedure before mid-2026. And in addition to the aforementioned payment, we will have to present proof of the internship corresponding to the months that we wish to contribute, something that we obtained in the companies or training centers where we were on a trial or internship.
