You publish coloring books and planners on Amazon KDP on the side. The bottleneck is original interiors, and the fear is a franchise prompt getting the book removed. The weekend routine, the four print-clean rules, and what still sells in a flooded category.

You publish on KDP in the evenings: a few coloring books, a planner or two. The listing, the cover and the upload are easy now. What eats the weekend is forty original interior pages, and what keeps you up is the thought that a page looking too much like a famous cartoon dinosaur gets the whole book pulled.
This page is the weekend routine for a side-income KDP publisher.
What sells, and what gets removed
The weekend routine
Pick a theme people type into Amazon, not "animals" but "dinosaur coloring book ages 4 to 8" or "farm vehicles coloring book toddler".
Generate the pages with a line-art prompt that locks the style: "bold single black outline, friendly cartoon stegosaurus, white background, no shading, no text, simple shapes, coloring book page." Make sixty, keep forty.
Check every page prints clean against the four rules below. Print three at home before you upload.
Assemble, publish, then market it. Publishing is not marketing; the books that sell get pinned, posted and bundled.
The four print-clean rules
Thick single lines
Why
Thin lines vanish at print resolution
No grey shading
Why
Shading prints as muddy blocks
Big simple shapes
Why
Small hands and crayons need room
White background, nothing cropped
Why
Edges trimmed in print; nothing important near them

Higgsfield · Higgsfield image generation

Higgsfield's image models hold a consistent line style across a whole batch when the prompt is locked, which is what a coloring book needs. Run one theme on the free tier and print three pages before you commit.
A page is a fraction of a credit, so sixty candidates for a forty-page book stays inside the smallest plan, with room for the cover. Plans are on Higgsfield's pricing page; top-ups expire 90 days after purchase and subscription credits do not roll over. Rights: Higgsfield's help center says generations are yours to use commercially; the copyright caveat by country is in can you sell AI images you made.
Lock the style words in every prompt and only change the subject. Generate in batches of ten and discard any page that drifts.
Is a "cartoon dinosaur" safe?
A generic cartoon dinosaur is a subject, not a character. A specific famous dinosaur character with a name is not safe. If a page could be mistaken for a franchise, drop it.
Do I disclose AI to KDP?
Amazon has AI-content disclosure requirements at publish time; answer them truthfully according to the current form. It does not block the book.
