Higgsfield, answered: plans, credits, limits and fine print
Higgsfield is an AI video and image studio from Higgsfield Inc. of San Francisco. It rents you other companies' models (Kling, Seedance, Veo, Nano Banana and more) in one app, on credits. These pages answer the questions people ask before and after they pay, from Higgsfield's own pricing page, help center and terms, with the date we read them. Where Higgsfield's pages contradict each other, we say so.

Is it legit and safe?
- Is Higgsfield legit?Higgsfield is a real, funded San Francisco company, not a scam site. The catch is in its terms. Your uploads can train its models, renewals are never refunded, and a free trial turns into a paid plan. Here's what the fine print says, what reviewers report, and how to sign up safely.
- Who owns Higgsfield?Higgsfield is a private US company, Higgsfield Inc. of San Francisco, owned by its co-founders and venture investors. Alex Mashrabov is co-founder and CEO. It has deep roots in Kazakhstan, it is not Chinese, and its August 2026 Series B valued it at $5.4 billion. Here is who invested, what the numbers mean and what nobody outside knows.
- Does Higgsfield train on my photos?Your photos stay yours, and new generations stay private unless you publish them. But Higgsfield's terms let it train its AI on your uploads, prompts and outputs, it passes them to outside model providers, and only Enterprise contracts switch training off. Here is what each policy clause says and what you can do about it.
- Can I sell what I make?Short answer: yes — Higgsfield says it doesn't claim ownership of your outputs and doesn't restrict commercial use. The nuance that matters is what happens to your images after you make them.
- Does Higgsfield have an app?No. Higgsfield has no iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows app; it runs in the browser at higgsfield.ai, phones included. Any store app using the name is not Higgsfield's. Here is how to use it on a phone, and the official ways to use it outside the browser.
What does it cost?
- Which plan should I get? Most people making short videos every week land on Plus. Starter fits under about 38 short Kling clips a month, Ultra fits past roughly 170, and Team only makes sense when you need shared seats. Here's the clip math, the dollar per credit and the prices we were shown on 26 Oct 2026.
- How do credits work?A 5-second clip costs anywhere from 3 to 110 credits, and your plan's credits vanish at every reset. Here's the per-model table, the expiry rules for each kind of credit, and the fine print on "Unlimited", all from Higgsfield's own pages.
- Is Unlimited really unlimited? Not in the everyday sense. Higgsfield Unlimited means no credits on a short list of named models, for 7 or 365 days, only on higgsfield.ai, in a slower queue. Here is which models are Unlimited on which plan, and the fine print.
- What does Seedance cost per clip?A 5-second Seedance clip on Higgsfield costs from 2.5 credits (2.0 Mini, 480p) to 110 credits (2.0, 4K), roughly $0.12 to $5.41 on Plus. Starter gets only 2.0 Fast and Mini. No individual plan makes Seedance Unlimited today; Team and Scale do, at 720p.
- Is the API cheaper than a plan?Sometimes. At list price the API costs more per clip than a fully used plan, but you only pay for what you make, so it wins below about 39 Seedance clips a month against Plus. Here are the rates, our per-clip arithmetic and who should use which.
- Is Higgsfield free?Good news: Higgsfield has a free tier (a limited set of models, no trial clock) — you upgrade when ready. How the free tier, credits and refunds actually work, from Higgsfield's help center.
Offers, billing and your account
- Is there a promo code that works? We found no public Higgsfield promo code we could verify. The discounts that do exist are on Higgsfield's own pricing page, and annual billing is the biggest. On 26 October 2026 it cut Plus by $144 a year and Ultra by $360 to $1,195. Here's every real discount, how codes are redeemed, and what to avoid.
- What is this charge on my card?It is almost always a payment to Higgsfield, the AI video and image platform run by Higgsfield Inc. of San Francisco. The usual causes are a plan renewal, a promo price ending, an upgrade, Auto-Refill or a top-up. Here is how to match the charge to your account, stop the next one and ask for money back.
- How do I cancel and get a refund?Cancelling stops the next charge — but it doesn't claw back what you already paid. Here's exactly how Higgsfield's cancellation and refund rules work, straight from their own help center.
- How do I change my email or delete my account? You can't change the email on a Higgsfield account, and credits, plans and generations never move to a new one. Here are Higgsfield's own steps for signing in, getting back in, deleting the account with its 30-day undo, and reaching Support, read on 26 October 2026.
Problems and fixes
- Why is it stuck on generating?Your clip has said Queued for ten minutes, or it failed and your credits look gone. Here's what each status means, why some jobs wait longer than others, when you get credits back, and the fix order Higgsfield's own help center gives.
- What does this error mean?Paste the error you're looking at and find it below. For each one we say what it most likely means, what to try, and whether your credits come back, from Higgsfield's own help center. Six common messages aren't documented anywhere, and we say so.
- How do I remove the watermark?Subscribe to any paid Higgsfield plan. Only free accounts get a visible watermark, it comes off new generations only, and old free-plan files have to be regenerated. Here is what each plan costs, what stays invisible, and why cropping it out breaks Higgsfield's terms.
How to make things with it
- Make UGC ads from a product linkYes. Marketing Studio's Product Link tool turns a product page into a vertical video ad, but Higgsfield's compare table lists the UGC builder and ads on Plus and Ultra only. A 15-second 720p ad was quoted at 75 credits. The hard part isn't the tool, it's the FTC rule on fake testimonials.
- Make a consistent AI influencerBuild the character in Higgsfield's AI Influencer tool, then train a Soul ID on 20 or more portraits of it so the same face holds across posts. Character access is listed from the Plus plan up. Here are the steps, what each one cost us, and the disclosure rules that apply to a fictional face.
- What is Cinema Studio 4.0?Cinema Studio 4.0 is Higgsfield's film-style video workspace, running on Seedance 2.5 with a Director's Panel, up to 50 references and clips up to 30 seconds. It's worth it on Plus or Ultra if you make story-driven scenes. A 30-second 720p scene quoted 210 credits, about $6 to $10 depending on plan.
- What is Genjutsu?Genjutsu is Higgsfield's video-editing tool that keeps the motion of a clip and rebuilds the rest, or swaps one thing in it. You upload a 4 to 30 second video and up to 30 reference images, pick a mode and generate. Here is what each mode does, what a clip costs in credits, which plans include free runs, and the consent rules for faces.
- Make a talking-avatar videoTurn a script into a lifelike, lip-synced on-camera presenter — no filming. The step-by-step with Higgsfield, in 74+ languages, and what it actually costs.
- Make AI images of yourselfUpload a batch of your photos once, and Higgsfield's Soul ID trains a reusable version of you that stays the same face across every generation. Here's exactly what to upload — and what to expect.
- Add cinematic camera movesDirected camera movement — push-in, orbit, crane, dolly — is what makes AI clips look cinematic. How to add it with Higgsfield's motion control, step by step, and what it costs.
- Prompts that workThe AI-image prompts that work follow one formula: subject + setting + lighting + style. 12 working examples — product shots, portraits, scenes — each with its real result and exact prompt.
- Use it inside Claude or ChatGPTPaste one URL into Claude, or add a plugin in ChatGPT, and you can make Higgsfield images and video from the chat. Here are the setup steps from both vendors' docs, what works where, the credit catch, and how we use it to make this site's hero images.
Compare and alternatives
- Best Higgsfield alternativesHiggsfield rents you other companies' models (Kling, Seedance, Veo, Nano Banana) in one app, so the real alternatives are going direct to a model maker, another all-in-one app, or a specialist tool. Here is what each costs today, which models it has, and when Higgsfield still wins.
- Higgsfield vs KlingKling has the most generous free tier in AI video; Higgsfield leans on credits, many models and control features. An honest, spec-based comparison to help you pick.
- Higgsfield vs HeyGen vs ArcadsHeyGen is the cheapest per talking minute and best for explainers. Arcads is built for testing many UGC-style ad variations with stock actors. Higgsfield costs the most per talking second, but the same plan also makes product shots, b-roll and cinematic video. Prices and credit costs read on each company's own pages on 26 Oct 2026.
- Higgsfield vs RunwayRunway is the polished pro incumbent with a real free tier; Higgsfield bundles many models plus motion control, consistent characters and a talking avatar. Spec-based, honest, no testing.
- Higgsfield vs Sora vs VeoSora 2 and Veo 3.1 are the frontier models (per-second, high-end); Higgsfield packages many models plus control features into one subscription. Which fits your workflow, spec-based.
- Higgsfield vs MidjourneyMidjourney is the image-only specialist for artistic quality; Higgsfield does images and video with motion and characters. For image work, here's the honest spec-based split.
- Soul vs Nano BananaSame app, two very different image models. One locks a face across a whole campaign; the other is fast and reference-driven. Here's which job each one wins — and why you don't have to pick just one.
