On 4 October 2026, the cheapest RTX 5070 Ti on Best Buy's search was a PNY card at $1,189.99, 59% over that MSRP. The MSI and Gigabyte models sat at $1,249.99, 67% over.

About 59% at the cheapest US listing we found. NVIDIA announced the RTX 5070 Ti at $749 in January 2025 and still shows $749 on its product page. Best Buy's cheapest RTX 5070 Ti on 4 October 2026 was $1,189.99. Most mainstream partner cards were $1,249.99.

Why did the RTX 5070 Ti get more expensive?

Memory costs, most likely, plus partners pricing to what the market will bear. Every RTX 5070 Ti carries 16GB of GDDR7. AI datacenters have been buying memory faster than factories can make it all year. NVIDIA has not commented on GeForce shelf prices, but it named memory directly when it raised the DGX Spark from $3,999 to $4,699 in February 2026.

Is the RTX 5070 Ti still worth it at $1,189.99?

For a 16GB card, yes, compared with the RTX 5080. NVIDIA's spec sheet gives the RTX 5070 Ti 896 GB/s of memory bandwidth and the RTX 5080 960 GB/s. On llama.cpp's public CUDA scoreboard, the two cards generate text at almost the same speed. The RTX 5080 costs $610 more at Best Buy for that small gap.

Buy the cheapest in-stock RTX 5070 Ti from a major retailer, or rent if your need is short. Paying extra for an RTX 5080 buys almost nothing for local AI.
