Who owns Higgsfield?

Higgsfield is owned privately by its co-founders, its employees with equity (if any; it doesn't say) and the venture firms that have bought shares. It does not publish a cap table, so the exact split between founders and investors is not public. It has no stock ticker, and we found no IPO announcement on its blog.

The legal company is Higgsfield, Inc. Its site footer and Terms of Use give the address as 535 Mission St, 14th floor, San Francisco, CA 94105. That is the name you deal with when you sign up or pay. For whether that makes it safe to buy from, see our is Higgsfield legit review; this page sticks to who is behind it.

The $530 million is our own floor, not a Higgsfield figure. It adds the Series A total TechCrunch reported ($130 million) to the Series B Higgsfield announced ($400 million). The real total is higher, because neither Menlo Ventures' 2024 investment nor the October 2026 TCV and NVIDIA extension came with a dollar amount.

Who is the CEO and who founded Higgsfield?

Alex Mashrabov is Higgsfield's co-founder and CEO. Higgsfield's 23 October 2026 announcement names three co-founders: "Alex Mashrabov, AI engineer Yerzat Dulat, and Mahi De Silva." Some press spells Dulat's first name "Erzat".

Mashrabov came from Snap. Higgsfield says he "previously co-founded AI Factory, the computer vision company behind Snapchat's Cameos and face filters, which Snap acquired in 2019." Menlo Ventures, which invested in April 2024, refers to "his previous role as Head of Generative AI at Snap". TechCrunch, in January 2026, put Snap's purchase of AI Factory in 2020, for $166 million. The year differs between the two, and we couldn't settle it from a primary filing.

When was Higgsfield founded? Higgsfield's About page says the product was "Launched in 2025". Its September 2026 post says the $1 billion run rate came "18 months after launch", which points to early 2025. The company itself is older: Menlo announced its investment on 3 April 2024. Third-party profiles give 2023 as the founding year, which we couldn't confirm on a Higgsfield page.

Is Higgsfield American, Kazakh or Chinese?

Higgsfield is a US company with Kazakh roots, and it is not Chinese. Higgsfield says it is "headquartered in San Francisco, with a large engineering hub in Almaty, Kazakhstan." Its October post adds that it maintains "deep roots in Kazakhstan through Astana Hub" and calls itself "Kazakhstan's first AI unicorn."

The Kazakh link is real and public. The October extension was announced "from San Francisco and Astana", timed with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's first visit to Kazakhstan. The Times of Central Asia reported in February 2026 that about 95% of Higgsfield's workforce is Kazakh, and that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met co-founder Dulat. That workforce figure is the newspaper's, not Higgsfield's.

Its customers are mostly elsewhere. Higgsfield says the United States is its largest single market and Europe its largest region by usage.

Why do people think it's Chinese? Mostly because two of the most popular video models on the site, Seedance and Kling, come from Chinese companies. They are not Higgsfield's. The next section sorts that out.

Does Higgsfield own Seedance, Kling and Veo?

No. Higgsfield is a platform that runs other companies' models next to its own. Seedance and Seedream belong to ByteDance, Kling to Kuaishou, Veo and Nano Banana to Google, and Sora and GPT Image to OpenAI. Higgsfield's model help page lists them that way.

This is our table, built from Higgsfield's help-center model pages read on 26 October 2026. Higgsfield calls Soul its "native image model family", and its help center answers "Is Higgsfield open source? No." The third-party models are licensed in, which is why the same model can also be found on other sites. If you are choosing between Higgsfield and a model maker's own app, our Higgsfield vs Kling and Higgsfield vs Sora vs Veo pages compare them.

How much is Higgsfield worth, and who invested?

Higgsfield's last disclosed valuation is $5.4 billion, from its $400 million Series B in August 2026. DST Global led that round, and Higgsfield names Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Tribe Capital, AI Capital Partners, Smash Capital, GFT Ventures and Valor Capital as participants. TCV and NVIDIA joined in an extension announced on 23 October 2026, with no amount or new valuation given.

Does NVIDIA own Higgsfield? No. NVIDIA is one of its investors, and Higgsfield hasn't said how large that stake is. The two also work together: Higgsfield says it has run on NVIDIA GPUs "from L40 and A40 GPUs through the Hopper and Blackwell generations." Investing in a company and supplying its chips is not the same as owning it.

One stale-page warning. Higgsfield's About page still says it is "backed by Accel, Menlo Ventures, GFT Ventures, and AI Capital Partners at a valuation of over $1.3 billion", with 25 million users. That is the January 2026 picture. The newer blog posts carry the $5.4 billion valuation and the 40 million user claim.

What does the "$1 billion run rate" actually mean?

It means a month's pace, not a year's sales. Higgsfield says it crossed "$1 billion in annualized revenue run rate" in September 2026, and explains the math itself: revenue "from the latest four weeks multiplied by 13". The same post says this "does not represent revenue already earned over the previous year."

Jan 2026$200M

TechCrunch, 15 Jan 2026

Higgsfield's own claim, 29 Sep 2026

That is roughly a fivefold rise in eight months, if both numbers are measured the same way; we can't confirm that they are. Higgsfield's other claims in the same post: "nearly 1M" paying subscribers, campaigns for "390 of the Fortune 500", and subscriptions falling from "more than 90%" of revenue to "just over 60%". It also says Mashrabov reported cash-flow break-even "over the past couple of months." None of this is audited or filed publicly. Treat it as the company's own scoreboard.

Who is "Higgsfield Inc." on my card statement?

Higgsfield Inc. is the San Francisco company behind higgsfield.ai, and a charge with that name is almost always a Higgsfield plan, renewal or top-up. Section 9.1 of its Terms of Use says payments go through Stripe. To match a charge to your account, check your email for a Higgsfield or Stripe receipt on the same date, then look at the billing section of your Higgsfield account. Our guide to the Higgsfield Inc charge matches each kind of charge to its cause.

Higgsfield also says it has no mobile or desktop app. Its official platforms page states: "Higgsfield has no mobile apps and no desktop app." A charge from an app-store "Higgsfield" app is not from Higgsfield Inc.

What we couldn't verify

  • The ownership split. Higgsfield is private and doesn't publish who holds what share. No founder or investor percentage is public.
  • The year Snap bought AI Factory. Higgsfield says 2019; TechCrunch says 2020, for $166 million.
  • The founding year. Third parties say 2023. Higgsfield's own pages only say it "launched in 2025". Menlo's April 2024 post shows the company existed by then.
  • The size of the TCV and NVIDIA extension, and whether it changed the $5.4 billion valuation. Higgsfield's announcement gives neither.
  • The full Series B investor list. Some press reports name more participants than Higgsfield's blog does; we couldn't open those reports in full, so we list only the investors Higgsfield names.
  • Revenue, users and subscriber numbers. All are Higgsfield's claims. There is no public filing to check them against.
  • Where Higgsfield, Inc. is incorporated. Its pages give the San Francisco address but not the state of incorporation.
  • Advisers. A contest entry in Higgsfield's changelog (16 Oct 2026) calls Iman Gadzhi an "investor and advisor". We found no second source for that.

Our verdict

Higgsfield is a venture-backed US company with a Kazakh engineering base, run by co-founder and CEO Alex Mashrabov, and owned by its founders and a long list of named investors, the newest being TCV and NVIDIA. It is not Chinese, though it hosts Chinese-made models such as Seedance and Kling next to its own Soul and DoP models. Its valuation and revenue figures are big, recent and mostly self-reported.

Who owns it matters less to a buyer than the terms you agree to. A real, well-funded company can still have strict refund rules, and Higgsfield does: renewals aren't refunded. If you're deciding whether to pay, read is Higgsfield legit for the fine print and is Higgsfield worth it for the plan maths. Then sign up on higgsfield.ai itself, not through an app store or a reseller.
