Starter was $19 a month on 26 October 2026, and every new generation on it comes without the visible watermark. Check the price shown to you before you pay.
Does Higgsfield put a watermark on free generations?
Yes. Every generation on a free Higgsfield account carries a visible Higgsfield watermark, and no paid plan adds one. Higgsfield's watermark help article says the watermark "depends on your account type, not on the model, the credits used, or the output quality."
So switching models, lowering the resolution or spending more credits on the free plan changes nothing. The same article answers the two questions people ask most:
"Is there a watermark toggle in the settings?" Higgsfield's answer: "No. Watermark-free output isn't a setting: it comes with any paid plan."
"Can I pay to remove the watermark from one existing video?" "No. Watermark removal isn't sold separately."
On a paid plan, the extras are clean too. Higgsfield says free generations included in a plan and Unlimited-model generations are "watermark-free, just like credit-based ones." Unlimited only exists on paid plans, so "Unlimited generations never carry a watermark."
How do you remove the Higgsfield watermark?
Subscribe to any paid Higgsfield plan, then generate again. That is the only route Higgsfield offers. Its help center puts it in one line: "Subscribe to any paid plan at higgsfield.ai/pricing. All new generations on a paid plan are free of the visible watermark."
The plans on sale on 26 October 2026 were Starter, Plus and Ultra for individuals, and Team, Scale and Enterprise for businesses. Older names you may see in forums, such as Basic or Pro, are legacy tiers, not plans you can buy today.

We built this table from three Higgsfield pages. The watermark column comes from the help article, which says paid plans don't add the visible watermark. The price column is the pricing page as it was served to us. The two commercial-use columns disagree, and that conflict is explained below.
If the watermark is your only reason to upgrade, Starter is the cheapest way out at $19 a month. It also has the fewest models: its card says "Access to selected models & features", while Plus and Ultra say "Access to all models & features". Check that the model you use is on Starter before you pick it. Our is Higgsfield worth it page compares the plans on more than the watermark.
Will upgrading remove the watermark from videos I already made?
No. A paid Higgsfield plan removes the watermark from new generations only. Higgsfield says: "Subscribing doesn't remove watermarks from generations already created on the free account: regenerate them to get a clean version."
The watermark is baked in when the file is made. Higgsfield's own wording is that it "is embedded at the time of generation, and existing files don't change." So there is no re-export button that strips it from an old file.

Regenerating costs credits like any other generation. Here is what that looks like on Starter, our arithmetic from the 26 October pricing page ($19 for 270 credits, about $0.070 a credit):

Two caveats. A regeneration is a new generation, so expect a new take on your prompt rather than a clean copy of the old file. And Higgsfield's numbers don't fully agree with each other: the Starter card says 270 credits is "~15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos", while the per-clip table works out nearer 22 five-second clips. The card may assume longer clips; Higgsfield doesn't say. The Generate button shows the exact cost before you spend. Our Higgsfield credits guide has the full per-model table.
The reverse also holds. If you cancel later, Higgsfield says watermarks won't appear on old generations: "existing files don't change. New generations made after your paid period ends follow the free account rules."
Does Higgsfield leave an invisible AI marker on paid files?
It may. Higgsfield says it "may embed invisible, machine-readable markers or metadata that identify content as AI-generated", and that these "aren't removed by upgrading." Unlike the visible watermark, they can be on files from any plan.
Section 6.4 of Higgsfield's Terms of Use names the standard. Higgsfield "may embed machine-readable watermarks, secure metadata, or content-provenance signals (such as those based on the C2PA / Content Credentials standard)". It may make them imperceptible and "enable third parties to detect them." It also says it "does not warrant that any marking will be applied to, or persist in, every Output."
In practice that means you can't count on a Higgsfield file being marked, or on it being unmarked. Plan as if a platform may be able to tell it's AI-made.
A clean file can still carry a label. Higgsfield may embed invisible provenance markers that platforms can read. Illustration made by us with Higgsfield, 26 October 2026. · Generated with Higgsfield (GPT Image 2) by aliteq
Can I crop out the watermark or use an AI watermark remover?
No, and we won't explain how. Removing the watermark yourself breaks Higgsfield's terms. Section 4.1 of the Terms of Use says: "You may not remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, watermark, trademark, service mark or other proprietary notices incorporated in or accompanying the Service."
Section 5.5 adds that you "will not remove, alter, or obscure any provenance signals or markings" Higgsfield applies under section 6.4. Cropping, blurring, painting over or running the file through a third-party "watermark remover" all fall under "remove, alter, or obscure."
Breaking the terms has a price. Section 16.4 says that if Higgsfield terminates an account for violating the agreement, "all Fees paid are non-refundable" and unused subscription and promo credits are forfeited. Cropping also cuts into your frame. The clean route costs $19 a month and leaves the whole picture intact.
Can I use watermarked free-plan files commercially?
Higgsfield's own pages disagree. The pricing page's compare table marks "Commercial use" as not included on Free and included on Starter, Plus and Ultra. The ownership help article says commercial rights "follow from the Terms of Use for all users" and are not tied to a plan.
The Terms side with the help article. Section 4.4 says Higgsfield doesn't claim ownership of your outputs "nor does it restrict your commercial use of Outputs." But the same help article flags the catch: watermarks "are embedded at generation, and publishing watermarked content in commercial contexts may not be appropriate depending on your use case."
Our reading: if the work is for a client, a product or an ad, use a paid plan. You get a clean file, and you sit on the safe side of both pages. Our can you sell Higgsfield AI images page covers ownership, resale and the training rules in full.
Do TikTok, YouTube and Instagram label Higgsfield videos as AI?
They can, and removing the visible watermark doesn't change your duty to disclose. All three platforms ask creators to label realistic AI content, and all three say they read industry provenance data such as C2PA, the standard Higgsfield's terms mention.
YouTube: "We require creators to disclose AI-generated or altered content that seems realistic." YouTube "may automatically apply an AI label" to "content that contains C2PA metadata", and a label applied that way "can not be adjusted" (YouTube Help).
TikTok: TikTok says it has "required creators to label realistic AIGC for over a year". In May 2024 it began auto-labeling AI content from other platforms "by launching the ability to read Content Credentials" (TikTok Newsroom).
Facebook, Instagram and Threads: Meta requires a disclosure "when they post organic content with a photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that was digitally created or altered, and we may apply penalties if they fail to do so". Meta also says it detects the "AI generated" information in the C2PA and IPTC standards (Meta Newsroom). Its label is now called "AI info" (Meta's later update).

Oct 23, 2026
Higgsfield's Terms of Use updated; s.6.4 allows C2PA-style provenance markers.
Higgsfield's terms point the same way. Section 5.5: "Where required by applicable law, you will disclose that Output is artificially generated or manipulated." A clean file is about looking professional. It is not a way to hide that the content is AI. For the YouTube side in depth, see our guide to YouTube's altered or synthetic content label.
What we couldn't verify
What the watermark looks like. We didn't make free-plan test files, so we can't describe its size, position or opacity.
Whether a given file carries C2PA data. Higgsfield says it "may" embed markers and doesn't promise them on every output. We didn't inspect any files.
Whether a specific platform will auto-label a Higgsfield upload. That depends on the markers surviving in the file and on each platform's detection, which we didn't test.
US prices. Our pricing data came back with a Danish country code. A US visitor may see different prices or promos.
Watermark on business plans. The help article says "any paid plan" removes it, which includes Team, Scale and Enterprise, but the business pages don't mention watermarks directly.
Which side of the commercial-use conflict Higgsfield will stand behind. The pricing table and the help article disagree; the Terms text supports the help article.
Our verdict
The Higgsfield watermark is a free-plan thing, and the only legitimate way to drop it is a paid plan. If you publish anything for money, a client or a brand, Starter at $19 a month is the cheapest way to get clean files. If you need models Starter doesn't include, Plus at $47 a month billed yearly is the next step.

Get watermark-free generations
Any paid Higgsfield plan removes the visible watermark from new generations. Starter was $19 a month on 26 October 2026.
Only on free accounts. Every generation on a free Higgsfield account carries a visible watermark. Paid plans add none, including on free generations and Unlimited-model generations included in the plan.
How do I get Higgsfield without a watermark?
Subscribe to any paid plan. On 26 October 2026 the cheapest was Starter at $19 a month. There is no watermark toggle and no one-off removal fee.
Does upgrading remove the watermark from my old Higgsfield videos?
No. Higgsfield says subscribing doesn't change files you already made on the free plan. Regenerate them on the paid plan to get a clean version, which costs credits like any generation.
Will the watermark come back if I cancel?
Not on old files. Higgsfield says existing files don't change. New generations after your paid period ends follow the free-account rules and get the watermark again.
Is it allowed to crop out or AI-remove the Higgsfield watermark?
No. Higgsfield's Terms of Use (s.4.1) forbid removing, altering or obscuring any watermark, and s.5.5 forbids removing its provenance markings. Violations can cost you your account and any fees paid.
Is a paid Higgsfield file free of all AI markers?
Not necessarily. Higgsfield may embed invisible, machine-readable markers, such as C2PA Content Credentials, on any plan, and says upgrading doesn't remove them.
